A New RPG Maker draws near! Command?

In my 25 years i feel myself like and old man, to be honest.
I mean, in my years of 14-16 i could easy do not sleep straight 2 or 3 nights in a row.
Now i can't beat even 1 night without sleeping and if i could, im gonna feel myself like a walking corpse, for sure.

Haha, yeah I'm kind of used to staying up till like 2:30 AM, so an extra 30-45 minutes isn't much for me. Really I should be trying to sleep earlier 'cause it's not healthy.

And AFAIK it's happening in like half an hour.

the only time i can go more than 20 hours without sleep is when something extraordinary is happening and i am outside the comfort of my bedroom

i.e. if i'm traveling and staying at a friend's house or it's a karaoke night or w/e

but if it's a gamejam i will happily sleep in the middle of the corridor in like 3 seconds at 2pm and NOBODY will wake me up save for prince philip

(and i'm just commenting because I'm 25 years old too. So yeah can relate)

edit: no, i do not mean that prince philip. I mean THAT prince philip. Oh god.

@ImaginaryVillain We all have to start sometime. I started rather late too. Just enjoy it for what it is. Everyone I've met here is super supportive.

I mean we need all the new RPG Makers out there who haven't been disillusioned yet and still think they'll finish a game some day... :B :B :B

Also, fun story about lack of sleep! So when the forums here first opened, people who preordered VX Ace got early access to the forums, as we opened them right around the same time.

So at the time, the Degica team that worked on RPG Maker was three people... maybe 4 I can't remember if Archeia was part of the team yet. Of the three though, I'm the only one left.

Anyway we had to manually activate all preorder people on the forums. We were going to do them in shifts. The person who was supposed to relieve me just... never showed up. I activated preorder people on the forums for 4 days straight with no one ever taking over for me. (I didn't just do that, but I checked every like 30 minutes to make sure I didn't miss any. There was a ton of them to do.)

Honestly if I tried to do that nowadays I think I'd just die.

Not going to lie, if traveling a path had the same survival rate as successfully making a game does here.... You couldn't pay me to take that path.

i'm sure i'll eventually break my chain of 14 years playing around with rpg maker and never completing a game. it may be when that number turns to 30. i'm okay with that.

truth be told i envy asset flippers' ability to be entirely devoid of self judgement and create a piece of garbage in a week and publish on every platform. If a little bit -- a little bit -- of that rubbed on me, maybe i'd have something out, rather than tuning every single sound effect because i'm horribly obsessed and need to see a therapist


also did you know that sleepiness has similar effects on your cognitive abilities as to alcohol? fatigue in general does. i know that because back when i was a teacher we all acted like drunkards in the last class of the day and fights between the staff would always break out because nobody wanted to lock the school.

anyway but i think everybody here is pretty well rested
