That's really that age-old musician's argument of 'duuuude, you're sellin' out, since when did we become all about the money bro', and it's entirely subjective. When I was in my band, before we did anything larger-scale, we played small venues getting paid pretty much nothing - we still enjoyed it, yeah, but when we played our EP launch and made a ton of money from it, that was probably the best gig we ever played. I don't really think there's any correlation between making money and being passionate about your art. You can still put the same amount of soul into a track regardless of whether or not you're getting paid, and if you can't, then that's the real problem here.
You kinda just picked off one part of my comment and interpreted it in your own way.

To dumb down what I said... Money shouldn't be what motivates your musical ability.

Money is a nice bonus, provided you still make good music, but you're not likely to make anything worth writing home about on these forums.

All the same though, theoretically there's nothing wrong with wanting to make music for money. I don't really see why that's so bad.

Well, since we are talking about the "age old" stuff =D

another "age old" question for artists is, "How do I find my Muse?"

And it is a journey each person takes - sometimes, despite criticism, sometimes benefiting from it...

Sometimes being positively influenced by the works of others, sometimes being distracted by it...

I am creative, but not in the kind of ways that show up in a place like this much. But I can see the value of being able to turn out ten songs without pressure because they are free, or to turn out ten songs which are ones best work because a commission created the focus to do so.

I know for myself, when things dry up, I have either become too insular, (not listening to and being exposed to others,) or too pressured, or just not continuing to create. /me shrugs... That's just me.

But it is also worth noting that the switch-over to emphasizing (successfully, I might add!) commercial apps for RPG Making resources has been a definite shift in the RPG Making community with respect to how materials "get out there" and how resources develop. It is not a bad thing by any means.

But it is different... Meanwhile, as so many people point out, there are so many musical pieces available for free online you will never, ever be able to listen to them all! Go, internet!

And having a favorite composer create something for pay - well composers, I think that seems very reasonable when that is what you want to do.

/me laughs at herself just trying to learn to loop songs in Audacity the other day, and figures a few bucks are well spent.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
