Hello everyone, first let me extend a quick greeting. I've been lurking around and this really does seem like a lovely and warm community. I come with a quarry however. I've done asset design ranging from sprites to script writing, and just recently I've decided I'd like to get into the drivers seat rather than play the role of a passenger. This is to say that I wish to design a game from the ground up, solely, or perhaps with a small team. The ideal outcome of this project is something similar to the Earthbound franchise, in that it will be a comically driven plot with cartoonish and friendly characters. I'm wondering if RPG maker would be a good platform to produce such a project on? Just briefly looking through the lite version, it seems that this creation engine is geared more towards generated character creation rather than importable graphics. If this where to be a fitting program, I'd then ask how hard it is to develop on? My expertise is primarily as a writer and designer, so I know I'd be fighting taking on a huge challenge as far as technical development is concerned. I'm also going to attach some samples of what enemies of the game might look like, criticism is welcome and appreciated.
Thanks,
Vincent
