Forgive me if I misworded that, but I had an idea...  In the game I'm working on, the plot sounds almost sinfully simple AT FIRST... but as the player progresses, the plot seems to get increasingly both deeper and DARKER.

Has this been done before? Of course I'm new at this and this is a learning experience for me, but if done right I think this might be something for the ages... :)   What are your thoughts?

Edit: Something for the ages? I suppose that might have been a bit thick....

Well, in all honesty there isn't a single thing I can do that hasn't already been done, is there? ;_;

I'll just have to do my best!

RMMV
That's a....very common thing? May I suggest reading more books / playing more games? (with good plots)

No offense but what you're saying is kind of like re-inventing the wheel.

Nothing wrong with the plot-style/progression though, but it's nowhere near "something for the ages". Nothing anymore is really.

My goodness... I suppose you're right. I've worked on the raw story line for years, I suppose it's best to just go with it, yeah?

Yep, it's not unique, but I love stories like that. I definitely think you should go for it. Well, nothing is unique, but in a way, everything is unique. Nobody can write a story the same way you can, so it can still be really interesting.

most books that I read right now are like that... the story seems so shallow at the first chapters then as you read longer, you see that the story goes really deep

Echoing everything others have said, also there is a problem though, a "deciptively simple" story can sometimes be a story with no good hook at the start... if I think your story is generic and boring and that's my first impression, I might not stick around long enough for when it becomes something more or whatever. So author beware, and make sure you have a good hook so somebody like me doesn't decide to give up, pretty much.

Very good advice. Thank you!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
