So this is the map I wanna use for my game:

How would I import this as a single map? Is it even possible? What tools would I need to use? (I'm a complete newbie to this program somewhat)

So far, I've just been cutting out certain sections in paint and placing it as a tileset. However, I've run into this problem doing it:

^And that's completely infuriating.

So what would I need to do to make this whole picture into a single map?

Well it is possible to turn your map into a parallax?

If you know the exact map coordinates (in the project) to fit the image you have then you're ready to go!

Import the complete map in your parallax folder, then open your map properties in the current map you want to use for the image;

afterwards select graphic under parallax background and then select the image you've got. Next click on "show in editor", you might need

to edit the passage, but there are some tutorials on that out there~ Search up some parallax mapping and look at the final steps (with the passage editing)

You might also need to edit the map a little bit if the map's got a bit of trouble in the project.

You need a parallax locker though (it's a script) to prevent the parallax from moving. And any objects you want overlapping the player (such as the back of a wall), you would need to cut up all these objects, and save them as a different image and put it in the Pictures folder. Then have it show up on the map using sn event to show a picture (you also need a script that locks the picture to the map, and not the screen). There's a few tutorials about it :)

First give me one at a time. ._.

Picture folder... what are you talking about? I can't just have it as a parallax border and leave it?

Explain the image thing.

Then explain the Sn event please~

sn = an. Typo.

In your case, you don't need to use the Pictures folder, or an event to show a picture.

This is what Cel is talking about:

When you make a map, usually there are things that are to be shown below the player (the ground, most of the map), and some things that should be shown above the player (tops of trees/buildings). To make a parallax map with some things below and some things above the player, you need to split your map into two layers. The bottom layer will be the parallax and will be shown below the player. You need a parallax locking script for this, so it moves at the correct pace as you walk around. The top layer becomes a Picture, to be saved in the Pictures folder and displayed using a Show Picture command. I believe this also would need a script mod to lock the picture to the map instead of to the screen. Then the player will appear above the parallax background, but below the Picture layer, and it'll look like a normal map.

It doesn't look like the map you've added to your first post actually has anything that should appear above the player, so you should be able to get away with just using the lower parallax.

Alright! I think I got it working now! Thanks a lot.

Also, While we're on the subject, Can I ask about Npc's in this topic? Or should I make another one really quick?

one topic = one problem :)

NPCs definitely have nothing to do with this, so go ahead and open a new one :)

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
