I'm submitting a thread for the Learning Together contest, found here:

I wanted to share some sort of advice with my fellow RPG Makers, but unfortunately, I'm not as savvy with the editors or scripting as other people are, so I decided to create a different kind of tutorial - in two ways. First off, it's a very simple tutorial - more of a tip, really, to aid developers that are just starting out with RPG Maker, but nonetheless, I think it's an extremely important tip that everyone should take to heart.

The second way that it's different, is that I have actually put it together as a comic, made in the ComiPo! software (which Degica also publishes). Below, you will find this short 6-page comic, and I hope it teaches new developers something important, and maybe makes you laugh a little.

Entirely appropriate advice, well presented. Maybe you'd like to transform the whole RPG Maker 'Help' file to this same format; maybe folks would read through it a bit more..? [IMG]   [IMG]

Just wanted to drop in and say good work on this Little Paw. A simple point but one of the most important ones for a beginner to consider. You'll only disappoint yourself if you try to make your "dream" game right away, it will never live up to the image in your head. I bet this is a reason for a number of new users who buy the makers and then seemingly drop it quickly.

Nice presentation and tone as well.  :thumbsup-left: :beard: :thumbsup-right:

Create a 'teaser' and send 'em it..?

(...or, indeed, to any other high-flying modern companies needing documents of this calibre..? It doesn't always pay to be bashful... [IMG]  )

Oh my god, the skill names in page 2 are so good, I can't pick a favorite. I'm torn between "Holy Prayer Skybeam" and "Horrifying Blizzard". "Nihongo Wakarimasen" and "Turbo Exploder" are excellent, too.

    I love this comic! :)

I did this exact thing (like most of us here I'm sure...) and never got traction on my project. I finally decided to make a prologue game which was very short and VERY rough around the edges, but I completed it. It's amazing how valuable it is to just complete a working game even if it's short and not that great. :)
