Could anyone please edit Yanflay's battle engine or construct a similar script that allows the use of 'force action' ?

Every time I try to use force action RPG Maker throws me an error.and only with Yanflay's battle engine...

Everything else is worth the recognition it gives, but I would really like to be able to use force action.

Also if someone could make a script that if force action tells the player to do something it doesn't allow them to enter the commands of any kind before the action is forced, that would be nice. Even if you force an action on a player they get to put a command in anyway.

I've tried using Switches on the attacks but that doesn't work.

link please. Don't make us go looking in order to help you.

What is the error it gives you? Have you tried it in another project with JUST Yanfly's engine to be sure that's what's causing it and it's not a script incompatibility?

Have you tried to use Yanfly's Ace Core Engine(by placing it above the battle engine) as well? I recall that in some cases, the force action issues are solved by doing that.

I use Battle Engine and Force Action without a problem.  I do have Ace Core Engine above it.

I tried that, and it works ^^

But now I have another issue.

Could it be the order that I have my scripts in?

I have quite a few of Yanflay's scripts above the core engine and the battle engine.

Would rearanging them help fix this?

According to Yanfly:

https://yanflychannel.wordpress.com/rmvxa/

"It’s highly recommended that you place your scripts within the order shown below."

(It's shown on that page :) )

So you may want to try that and see if anything changes.

I think you should rearrange them so that the core stays on top.

Some might need the core to work...

And is the issue caused by a skill?

Alright: I made the changes to the order of the scripts, I don't have all of them but I arranged them accordingly to his recommendation, here's what I have.

Yanfly Engine Ace - Ace Core Engine v1.09

Yanfly Engine Ace - Class System v1.10

Yanfly Engine Ace - Class Specifics v1.00

Yanfly Engine Ace - Class System Add-On: Class Unlock Level v1.00

Yanfly Engine Ace - Ace Battle Engine v1.22

Yanfly Engine Ace - Victory Aftermath v1.04

Yanfly Engine Ace - Ace Menu Engine v1.08

Yanfly Engine Ace - Party Sized Menu v1.00

Yanfly Engine Ace - Ace Save Engine v1.03

Yanfly Engine Ace - Save Engine Add-On: New Game+ v1.00

The following script order got me the same results, however...

The window is now 'widescreen' format, which I rather like, but it still has the black bars on the sides ._.

Oh the black bars were the issue lol XD

I think that you need some kind of high definiton script or other stuff, I'm not so sure but I Arcehia made an HD dll that I think that does that.

No you don't need a script to get rid of the bars.  You have to re-size your graphics so that they fit the new size of screen.  Use Gimp, Photoshop, paint.NET or similar.

EDIT

@ookami_lord

I'd say, looking at that screen, that it is the standard change from 544 x 416 to 640 x 480, which is not what high definition is.

What size do I have to resize EVERYTHING (Battle Backs, etc) to then? I can do it, but I'm going to need someone to rip the title screen images from the RTP or just look for them ._.

EDIT:

Nevermind, I found all the images I need to resize (thankfully just battlebacks and some of the other small stuff. :p

Titles and Game Over should be the same as your screen, battlebacks a little bit bigger to allow for screen shakes in battle animations.

Alright, I resized the title screen and it looks a bit too big at 440 x 398 so I'll try 435 x 393 for the titles/game over and 440 x 398 for battlebacks

Also I got kinda bored after finding the RTP folder (I had to use steam =-= ) so I made a quick and dirty version of a game over screen in photoshop. :3

It's amazing what you can do with layers and RTP images ^+^

If your screen size has been set to the first figures you gave, i.e. 440 x 398, you will have problems, because those figures are not divisible by 32, and therefore you will have partial tiles.  The nearest whole tiles size is 448 x 384 i.e. 14 x 12 tiles.

The actual in game maps look fine actually....I don't have to resize them.

It's just the title screen, battle backs and most likely the game over screen that went wonky for some reason.

Think it might have something to do with the script? The screen only went to 'widescreen' format after putting the core script engine that Yanflay made in. Not that it's a problem since I can fix it myself by resizing the images accordingly, but still.

Also is it possible to make a .gif battle start image? I was thinking of making an effect similar to Tales of games. (Glass shattering and breaking)

Nothing too fancy, just a 3 to 6 frame animation of glass cracking and then shattering.

I beleive you need to look around line 145-164 of Yanfly's Core Engine script for what you're wanting.

That fixed it ^+^

Though the widescreen format window will be missed, I can live without it :p
