Not so Basic System of scripts.



Hi i got a question and Req all the same for you, guys I am looking for a bunch of scripts to make a system of script that lets me not only do what this Basic Quest System t.ex does





But also add in Daily Task Tab like in WOW And a Tab with Romance Quests Like Dragon age And finaly a Tab with Companion(friend/Owl/Magical Animal) And works with a Time days Controll script + in that script a Day-night Controll system script that lets say if a char enters a dungeon it takes 1-2 hours to complete it, so the main char can go in a few times then it is night and he has too sleep.. Along with a Need for food/sleep script or Fatigue Alignment is gained.Along with Need to Shower or Stinky  Alignment is added. and can be removed upon doing like like eating or sleeping/massage.  I realise This is Not exactly a Basic System. but Its what i am After. I mean with that i could Make an Incredible game that would be Very Realistic Working and also controll a bit how fast/slow the character grows.  Among other things. but 1 thing 1. :)

I think it would be best, if you start by working through a tutorial like here:

There you learn what you can do with the tools you got in RPG-Maker and how things work. With that experience you can create your first game, basic at first but you know even World of Warcraft wasn't created as Blizzard's first game ;-). Don't load too many things at once on your back, the perfect game is usually one that stays unfinished and gets abandoned after some amount of time and tries (Blizzard's Titan, CCP's World of Darkness...)

I suggest that you follow the link "how to use a script" as well as the "staring point" from my signature.


Your request shows that you don't understand how the scripting system of the RPG Makers work, because you don't need a single script to combine those features - you as the developer will have to use independent scripts and combine them yourself.


And if you don't understand that, then most probably your experience with the RMs is very low, and you should familiarize yourself with them first (which is why you should work through the tutorials in the starting point as well.

Okey i spell it out for you as simple as i can.


A, The game system i want for my game/games works like this.and its not even everything.


Main quest. 1 A number set of days till completion or fail. with diffrent way's of completing it. and diffrent time.


Main quest 2 ends when all task in it are Minimum req completed or the player decides its enough.


Main Quest 3 A free quest meant to be Continuing on Main quest 1 with no Time limit only set of tasks that needs to be done.


Main Q 4 Sort of a free Quest too take or not


Daily Tasks  Main character study with a friend lets say and that takes 1 hour.  with Skills and Agility Stats that Improves Completion time.


Romance Quest: Like DAO Completion but with Charisma powering it up..


Companion,  Quest. An special Npc Humanoid or Animal becomes a Follower/Pet.-same as above with


Day night existing script. with 24h working with Quest script lets say Character A study it takes 1 hour after certain time Night comes.


Survival System sort of. meaning char needs food/drink to survive and Fatigue Possibility if no sleep or Stinky Aligment Possibility if not washed


Stats Script changing and giving more stats Like Charisma and Int and Wis. End.


Reputation/faction script working with charisma=cha in point gain.and a skill or 2.


Relationship system script. working with charisma=cha in point gain.and skill.or 2


Random Loot drops of many kinds among other things as well as Possible Choice of extra Powers


Skills/spells that level up script.


Dungeon Creating Skill.


Spells not 'auto level' learned but only gained through reading book/getting trained.


this is mostly just tip of the ice-berg i haven't even begun describing everything.

Then you should stop at this point and try to implement those parts first, before you add more to the engine.


Everything you mentioned already exists in one form or another - some parts don't even need scripts but are usually done by eventing alone, like skill training by events and items alone.


We cannot make your game for you, you need to put in most of the work for yourself. And it is especially against the forum rules to request too much at once.


Here is how you should do it:


1) select one of the parts you listed above.


2) Search the forum for existing soluions - for example one of the time scripts or skill level scripts or whatever)


3) If you don't find anything or if you don't know how to use it, then ask for how to implement that specific function.


4) Make sure that you got it working with our help before continuing


5) Start at 1) again with selecting the next mechanic you want to implement


6) repeat until everything works (will take you probably a year or so of work)


I'm closing this topic because it can't be solved, you have to follow the steps I outlined to get your game going.
