A way to zoom in on the tile sets and map editor in the editor?

Greetings everyone, this is my first post here.

My system is set up on a 23" widescreen monitor at a resolution of 1920x1080. This makes the tiles, characters, etc. very very small and hard to see in the main RPG Maker VX Ace editor window. Is there a way to zoom in, or anyone have suggestions to make my life easier in that aspect? I can't seem to hit the right key words to get a good hit on Google for an answer to this problem, but I'm positive I can't be the only one that has this complaint?

I appreciate anyone's assistance,

Devon

He said in the editor, not when playing :)

Across your toolbar you'll see 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8. 1/1 is the highest zoom you can get. If it's not on that already, click it.

If you're already on that, the only thing I can suggest is to lower your monitor resolution while you're working in the engine.

Yes, that is correct; while I'm in the editor, not while playing. Yes, I did find the 1:1, etc. and I am on 1:1. Having 2:1 and 4:1 would be a great option. Oh well. Ease Of Access options in Win7 has the magnifying glass, but that is buggy (flips between the desktop and RPG Maker, or when the character editor is up, it flips between RPG Maker and the dialog box back and forth.) You're the moderator and obviously been around a long time here. No one ever request this feature before?

Thanks everyone. Any other ideas besides change my monitor resolution? I wonder if I could keyboard shortcut resolution changes.... Hmmm....

Windows has a program to help users who have eye problems by increasing the display zoom. In German versions it's called "Bildschirmlupe", but I don't know how it's called in english versions.

It's part of an entire group of programs for improved usability to handicapped people.

You have to use something like this program, change the monitor resolution (might cause problems with your monitor) or changing the font size percentage (might distort some fonts).

Thank you for your help, Andar. It's called Ease Of Access on the English version, but like I mentioned above, but it's buggy and makes it annoying to use. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Ah, Andar's point reminds me of an irritating mouse we have at school with a magnify tool on the side.

That would help you.

(It irritates me because the little kiddos turn it on and do not know how to turn it off.)

Maybe try increasing DPI settings?
Decrease, but yeah.

Have you tried the snip tool?  It has a magnifier.  That said, I map on 1:1 on my hi-res monitor and I don't have any problems.

Probably just a shortcut for the magnifier. Of which, maybe I could map the middle mouse button to magnify too... another thing to ponder. I just wish it wouldn't flicker between layers on the desktop with the one that's built into Windows 7.

Aha! In the control panel with my mouse, I can map the middle button to the Magnify... tool. One click, it comes up, one click it goes away. It still flickers between RPG maker and my desktop, especially in the upper left corner, but a decent and easy to use alternative for right now. Still open to other suggestions, but this was a great suggestion I didn't think of at first. :)

Could you please be more specific on both points please? Decrease DPI? DPI setting is for text, is it not? Not sure how that help with the graphics? I'd really like to keep it isolated to RPG Maker because I have no issues with seeing anything else on my monitor with FireFox and the like.

What is the snip tool? I just want to be able to see the tile sets in better detail, or more like, be able to see them about the size it is in-game.

I have the same sized monitor and resolution as you have - I can see RPG Maker just fine. I think your resolution is just set too high for your screen, causing everything to be smaller. Unless you honestly think that RPG Maker's true size is tiny.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
