aaaa hello!!! im a newbie goober

Hey there !! i'm really new to using forums in general so please tell me if i'm doing something wrong ahah !!


I'm 15 and I recently started looking at some gamemaking programs at school. I didn't really like the ones we used there, so I found RPG Maker and here i am !


I'm working on a generic fantasy rpg using the default tiles, just to get used to the program and how it works as well.


ooh, and I can draw things (with a painfully inconsistent art style) , i guess?????????aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I'm more of an illustrator/fanartist at the moment, and i want to get better at pixel art, tilesets and all that!  Here are some attempts at sprites ooooh b o y,, 

if anyone has any advice to tell me about actual spritemaking, please feel free to message me. Criticism, tips, and all that are welcome O

Heya, welcome to the forums!


I volunteered and taught a course on gamedesign/coding using hyperstream with one of our local colleges. A few students there were in a similar boat to what you described and wanted to make old school RPGs.


So, naturally, I pointed them towards RPGMaker and several other engines as well. Haven't seen them since they moved on to other courses though...I wonder if they might even be lurking around here ^^


Have fun with the engine and best of luck making a game. As for the forum, well there is a tab right at the top of the forum "Forum Rules" so you'll want to start there. Then, within each of the subforums there are some additional rules pinned. Those cover aspects of what should/should not be posted and some other tidbits as well.

Sorry for the delayed greeting, I have been in Mabinogi a lot lately. Lol, even when I'm not at the comp the game is still logged in, as a consequence I haven't been on any forums or facebook much lately.
