This script may already exist, but I was wondering if theres one to make each tile pages tiles overlay the next one in order from A-E?

Example, you use A to make all your floors and walls etc, B to add a bed and windows, C to add clothes on top of your bed, curtains on the windows, D to add a stain on the clothes or rip in the curtains, and E for more etc etc, so you can make a 5 layer tile basically, and I guess the passability would have to be the topmost tile.

would be cool to add so much more customization to your maps

But yeah this may already exist but I couldnt find a script, or maybe theres another solution to do something like this? though Im not a fan of having to use an editing program to make parallax maps etc, id rather layer up each tile one by one and edit on the fly in editor.

You couldn't find one because there isn't one. You have a ground layer which uses tiles from the A sets, and a top layer, which uses tiles from B-E. The code that draws the map based on the editor layout is not available to be modified.

The best you could do might be Tsukihime's Overlay Maps script, which lets you create several maps in the editor but display them as a single map in the game.

If top and bottom layer are not enough, you can use events as a third layer above the regular top layer.

However, there can only one event set to a map position and they can't be layered without scripts (Tsukihime has one such a script if I remember correctly, but it also has some limitations because it's for moving events - the editor can only store one event per coordinate for the game.

I'll look into it more later, had a quick look and it seems useful =]

There is also this script which says it is for unlimited layers

http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/2065-unlimited-graphically-layered-maps/

I haven't tried it myself, so I don't know how it works.  It might require quite a bit of fiddling about, but if it works as claimed, then it would seem to meet your needs.
I put the script in, read the header on how to use it part, but I cant get my head around the explanation given, so it explains how to use the code etc, but.. I'm probably missing something glaringly obvious but where do I put the code? lol :| wish he added screenshots of where it all goes step by step, but it does look interesting to use for what I need.

Ill check it out, thanks :)

You could switch to parallaxing your maps (creating it in an image editing software like Photoshop), which would give you unlimited freedom on how the map looks like, and you don't have to deal with the layering in Ace.

If you do go that route, make sure you still stick to a 32x32 grid, as you can put map tiles anywhere you want, but the player is still limited to grid movement (or rather, grid passability).

Yeah I guess I'll stick to good ol' photoshop to make the map exactly how I want, and put it in myself specifically, and hope that maybe some new unlimited tile overlay feature will be in the next RPGM :)

Cheers for all the advice guys.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
