Hi. Beforehand, I'm not sure if this is the right spot for my question. I'm currently kinda studying the uses and labels for tiles and I'm making my own assets. I want to know what use you guys give to these tiles in the Indoor A5?
They're called "ledges" but so far, I don't see them useful enough to deserve a space. I mean, if you wanna map a column or an actual cliff, you can use A4 walls and that's it.

I'd like to know what kind of indoors structure you map with that or if they're taking space in your tileset just because. export202301241323203610.png

You'll notice that there are stairs in that tileset. The ledge tiles are commonly used for step-ups of ~1-3 tiles. Sometimes you just don't want auto-tiles. After all, auto tiles will change their appearance being next to itself/other tiles and lead to unwanted outcomes.

Step-ups ? Like actually passable? The ones I see look like tiny walls that are not supposed to be walkable at all.

Yeah, I've already noticed the point for non-autotiles while mapping but the ones I highlighted look like small columns

the ledges are there if you want to give the impression of a raised floor. They themselves are walls, the poster above meant that you'll have to use stair-tiles to give a logical way to climb up the ledges.

This would be an example for how ledges are used

ledge.png

The ledge tile is in the middle, between the stone platform above and the water below. Flanked by two stairs to allow the player to get up to the platform.
