Hey guys.
I wanted to ask you if anybody know's if there is a ABS (Action Battle System) Plugin out there, that is WORKING and get's supported... I have huge problems with Phoenix Kage Desu's ABS. (Which actually is a GREAT ABS!!!)
I get crashes, bugs and even Game breaking Bugs....

So does anyone knows an ABS for MV? (I know its not easy to create one... I would've done it myself if I had JavaScript knowledge ._.)

ABS i know of:
Quasi ABS
Phoenix Kage Desu's ABS

Thanks in advance!

I've moved this thread to Plug-In Requests. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Plug in in development is for showing off ones you are working on that are not finished.

To answer your question those are the only ones I know of. But remember they take a really long time to write, ACE has been out for years and I think it had only 4 or 5 ABS systems made at all.

Sorry, I didnt knew where to put it now exactly :D
Yeah I know its really hard to create an ABS if the Engine isnt really build for that ._. They should've create an ABS instead of Side View... I think a lot more people would find interest in this Engine^^

Actually, it's more because writing an ABS requires rewriting the entire engine. So no, the company couldn't do ABS as an option instead of side view just because at that point the game engine is totally rewritten, which would mean they'd have to sell two different engines at that point in time.

Thats what I was telling you. They should've put an ABS Systems instead the Sideview Battle System. Right now, maybe in the future as an AddOn maybe? But I doubt it.

ABS games are harder to setup for the developer (you, me, etc) coz everything happens in "real-time", there are a lot of things that needs to be considered. Since the engine's point is to be easy to use for beginners, then using a turn-based battle system is the more logical choice coz it's easier for beginners to set-up.

It would also have took a longer time to make for the devs of the software since they will need to make completely new coding for a lot of the things that the engine does during runtime as compared to sticking to the current system where they just needed to recreate the same logical flow in a different language and adjust. It's way easier to make a "new" code when you already have the logic all laid out and tested than make and test a completely new logical flow.

Also, the company that makes the RM series is a Japanese one that caters more to the Japanese market, and most JRPGs use turn-based battles. It's only really now at MVs time that they even started to listen to the other markets.

You missed my point. To put ABS in the default engine requires totally rewriting the engine, and then the regular battle system wouldn't exist. Those two cannot exist side by side. That's why plug-ins take so long to make, as they are essentially rewriting the entire engine.

Wait... hmmm

They should've put an ABS Systems instead the Sideview Battle System
Do you mean ABS as the option on the checkbox on the database rather than the current option which is Sideview?

Or

do you mean ABS instead of the default turn based system.

If an abs is what your after you need to take a look at what you want in your battle system, if it's just Zelda your still...rewriting the whole engine which is why the XP project is still in development vs you can just clone Zelda in 4-8 hours in Unity or Game maker or heck Godot. But here's the kicker with those engines you're essentially writing ALL the functions not just the battle system granted depending on your programming skill it's still far less time than making a MV plugin.

If MV is still your bet please expect at least 1 month to several years of development...

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
