First off, sorry if my problem is beyond the scope of this board, but ive had the issue for awhile and figured I'd see if any PC experts knew how to solve it.

Basically sometimes when the computer with my RPGMV project is being used, I access the project from a different computer. I can do this thanks to all my PCs being connected on a router.

This works fine for the most part--however, when I access a project from a different computer, I am UNABLE to access any image or sound files associated with the project.

I can make maps (and tilesets are still available strangely enough) and edit the database, but I can't access images or sounds through events. If I load up the sound tester, It says (none) as if no files are there, same with images.

Does anyone know why this happens or how to solve it? I would post screenshots but I'm on mobile.

what directory paths do you use?
MV requires all filenames and path to conform to the original networking rules for filenames, because they need to be accassable on different devices. But Windows allows some redirects that allow non-standard letters even in network areas as long as they are pure windows networks.
And that will always result in the editor not detecting those files.

do you mean the directory for the project i'm accessing? it looks like this:

\\AWESOMEMOBILE\Users\jkwea\Documents\Black Spire

RPG maker itself is installed in Program Files (x86)/steam/steamapps/common.

If it means anything, I can see audio/image files just fine in MV's resource manager; i just can't see them or access them if i load up the sound tester, try to assign a graphic to an event, animation, modifying tilesets, etc.

Yes, and the problem is directly visible: Spaces don't work through networking, that is preventing the access.
Rename it (at least in the network folder name, you don't have to change the game title) to Black_Spire or something else that has no spaces in it and everything should work correctly.

Hmm. I removed the space, but the problem's still there. Interesting to know something as simple as a space could cause that, though.

try to access the path to the game in a browser directly on the network location, and check the way it is displayed in the adress line.
Anything that gets replaced by a percent sign followed by a number is something that is illegal under networking rules.

(the space is critical because it is also the argument divider in a command line, and all network access works by command line internally as a leftover from the time when there was no graphic interface to handle that)

like this? I tried copying the address into Chrome and i'm not noticing any percentage signs. I know what you're talking about, though, but i can't seem to replicate it.

Start the index.html and then look at the adress line

oh, my bad.

Starting index.html in the browser reveals the path as:

file:///C:/Users/jkwea/Documents/Black_Spire/index.html

accessing the file from a different computer gets awesomemobile//Users/jkwea/Documents/Black_Spire/index.html

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
