Hello.

Like most here, I have a dilemma.

I'm using Khas' Arc Engine as well as the code Graphics.resize_screen(640, 480) above rgss_main and it works almost fine except for the fact that there is a large black outline on the bottom of the screen if I compress the Arc map files (without compressing there is none but also no Arc Engine).

Here's some pictures:

The Sprite is just for testing purposes.This is how it shows up in game

And this is how it shows up in the editor:

The map is set to 20x15.

Thank you for reading.

You sure there's not another script that's setting it to a larger size?

Yes as those listed above are the only ones I have in the script editor.

Try this :

1) Enter the Script Editor (F11)

2) Enter full search (CTRL+SHIFT+F)

3) Search for "Graphics.resize_screen"

4) Paste the results to us.

If some scripts are not MADE to resize the screen, that does not mean they DON'T resize the screen.

Other than the Graphics.resize_screen above main There are two more in the script editor (both in the Arc Engine):

def change_resolution
dispose_background
Graphics.resize_screen(640,480)
load_brushes
create_editorbg
end
def restore_resolution
dispose_background
Graphics.resize_screen(544,416)
create_background
end

That's strange...

Try to comment out the Graphics.resize_screen lines other than your own (select the line and press CTRL+Q, the same process is for uncommenting.)

Unfortunately I tried that but it still didn't do anything. Thank you though.

If you zip up your project (don't compress/encrypt) and load it up somewhere, someone might be able to take a look and do a bit of debugging for you.

bump. If all else fails I can make a HUD 64 pixels tall to block it out.

Going to try my luck with Rust programming language. C++ is just way too gosh darn frustrating.
Phew. Finally fixed all of the tileset and event issues in this demo. And now, it's time to release another, finished game. Stay tuned!
you know, since learning C [;)] I've grown to love VC and OpenGL :D
