Hi! I'm kind of new to rpg maker vx ace, have been practicing on using it for few months. I then thought of making a game and have been searching for scripts since then. I found Blackmorning's scripts and thought that her scripts will be a great asset to the game I'm making.

Though, right now I'm having a problem and decided to post a threat to ask about this certain problem and hopefully, get the questions answered. The problem I'm having currently is the biography window. I've been trying to make it work but it doesn't seem to work at all :'<

The script is called: Blackmorning Advanced YEA Status

The biography should show up like this:

biogra.jpg

But when I tried it, none of the following shows up. Like the alignment, age, birthplace, etc. I already have the other scripts needed to make it work but... I'm not really sure what's wrong Q A Q. I have followed the directions and instructions on how to make it work, what to input and others but there's still no improvements at all.... I hope you can help me with this... I've been stuck on this problem for about a week now...

When you write "I have followed the directions and instructions" what exactly do you mean?
We need to know what you did to see if the issue is from your script settings or some other user related errors. If it's not, we can move on to check for compatibility issues and other code related things.

It was a good while ago since I last used this script, but it worked for me flawlessly back then (aside from a small display issue from rounding errors, but I fixed that myself).

I'm trying to make the the player's biography.

In the instructions:
Actor's Notetag
To set an actor's initial age, enter:
<age: number>
To set an actor's birthplace to x, enter:
<birthplace: x>
To set an actor's height to x, enter:
<height: x>
To set an actor's custom bio y to x, enter:
<cbio y: x>

I'm trying to make the player's biography show by using this notetags but whenever I run the game, the biography remains empty.note.png

I even copy from this one but nothing still shows up in the biography...

It was to toggle key! I forgotten about it (even though I already saw it in the script...) Thank you!
But now, there's another problem...

The custom bio that I've written isn't showing up...

To set an actor's custom bio y to x, enter:
<cbio y: x> <- I have already written this one as "<cbio 1: Human>"

[1] would call on and changed to: "Species" as it's the one written in the custom bio info text.

Edit the BIO_INFO and/or ACTOR_BIO_INFO settings.
You need to include those setting keys made in the CBIO_INFO_TEXT in the above mentioned setting arrays otherwise they won't show up.

But wow, I completely forgot how convoluted these setting areas look like in this script. :D

Aah, seen.
it really only gives you what you specify. Would have been better if you could have just selected different settings for different actors.
Instead of it forcing the same for all.
Code:
BIO_INFO = [:blank,:align, :age, :gender, :birthplace, :height, :custom_bio1, :custom_bio2]

That are also written in the script I have...

There are still no changed in them... It only shows the Alignment, age, birthplace and height.

Here's what written in my player's note:
<INI_ALIGN: 15>
<age: 17>
<birthplace: Canada>
<height: 158>
<cbio 1: Human>
<cbio 2: 121lbs>

I tried adding another one, but it remains the same.

You can customize different bio elements for each actor, that's the setting right below the BIO_INFO, the ACTOR_BIO_INFO settings are made for that.

And while we are at that setting...
@AoSapphire
Try to comment out the ACTOR_BIO_INFO[1] line. That setting loads for Actor 1, and you don't have the custom bio stuffs setup there.
If that's not it, I'm out of ideas.

I commented out the ACTOR_BIO_INFO[1] just like you said and it worked! Thank you so much! :D

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
