[ACE] Easy to use Gamepad Remap Script?

Is there something out there that can alter the gamepad controls? I'm using an Xbox 360 Controller and the default controls are... awkward. The F1 option I heard is only for your computer and plus, it only has ten buttons while the 360 controller has about 16 (Minus the Guide Button).

I looked at DiamondandPlatinum3's Core, but that doesn't seem to work for anyone - including myself - and Lone Wolf's Gamepad Extender which was waaaay to complicated for a guy who can't script for his life.

So all in all, I want to find a way to give all of these buttons some meaning even if the LT and RT uses the default A function or something.

Are you sure that's what you want to do?


If you map the additional buttons to functions of your game, then people who don't have that controller but a regular controller with less buttons will have problems playing your game.


That is the reason why the F1 function is there after all - to allow for different controllers to be used with the games, and to allow the player that choice depending on what controllers he/she owns.


If you want help with existing scripts, please link to them - but adding and configuring new controls will require at least some scripting knowledge, no way around that.

After a day or so thinking about it, you're right. I got a little too.... hype or whatever xD alright, so let me try and redo that...

There are two interesting scripts that I saw that were related to changing gamepad controls. Specifically Xbox and PS3. 

-DiamondandPlatinum3's Core

-Lone Wolf's Gamepad Extender

EDIT: Friggin' hit tab...

 Anyways, DP3 isn't working right because of different computer models like Windows 7, 8, vista etc.

Lone Wolf's, couldn't use it for the life of me. A dumbed down version or explanation would be fine xD

Other then that, I'll just stick with F1
