B,C,D,E section's items can only be overlaid to section A and I have a table in B and a laptop in E. I heard of something about parallax but I couldn't find any tutorials about it.

Could you guys help me?

Thanks first :)

Parallax mapping is only one method, and it's a lot of work.

Usually people use decorative events as a third layer - any tile from the B to E tilesheets can be selected as an event graphic (just scroll the list down to the bottom) and then placed above the regular map layers.

Yup, just use evented graphics, that's what I do. But I generally use counters for tables instead of the actual tables... just cause it's easier.

I've moved this thread to VX Ace Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

You usually don't need ALL the images in your B-E tiles (and in the RTP E isn't even used, so there's a whole sheet just for your use). I normally remove any images I'm not using, and then put my own sprites in the remaining space that's become available.

I know how to parallax mapping now and I use Photoshop for it. I just need to use rectangular tool to copy the items i want to overlay and a table or something like that and overlay them in .PNG file (transparent background, of course), then I import them to use, but here's one problem:

After importing, to use those items, I'll need to put them in section B,C,D,E but what if I used at least 1 item in every sections? Then I won't be able to change because it'll mess up everything. Should I totally get rid of one section's items or find an another way?

The other way was already mentioned above - use events, and there is no problem with combining the event method and parallaxing.

I don't think you really understand parallax mapping. If you're parallaxing, you create the ENTIRE map in photoshop, and then create a second "overhead" map (for treetops/clouds/whatever that'll be above you) in photoshop. You can* literally make the entire map in photoshop and not use any tiles in the editor (except for passabilty). If you're simply combining some tiles, that's not parallaxing.

* You will probably also use events for graphics, though.

Ouch, I thought parallax mapping was just so.

So, how can I use events for graphic?

You click on the picture area to open the sprite selection of the event, but instead of clicking on a sprite you scroll the list down to the bottom entries - which are the tiles for the current map.

Centrik,

Your map can layer on top of the TileB-E by adding events.

Those events can have the images from TileB-E - look all the way at the bottom of the images available when you click on the event graphic in your event.

If this is hard, then I suggest that you look at the Tutorials for Beginners in my signature. CLICK ON THE IMAGE HERE.

There are several that can help you. =]

I have a sprite formatting video tutorial in my signature -- it's more about how to make your own sprites and put them in the game, but if you skip towards the end it still might help clear it up.
