Ok, I think this is my first post? no? hahaha  :D

anyways, My problem is how to use properly the Lunatic Damage by Yanfly

I use it like this

  • I followed the instructions on how to install the script based on the arrangement here http://yanflychannel.wordpress.com/rmvxa/, I don't have any script aside from Yanfly.
  • I used the script in this way
<custom damage>

999 + a.atk * 40 - b.def * 20

</custom damage>

but why I can't inflict any damage? as I attack it says "Null"  :(

I there anything wrong which makes my damage "Null"?

Hello Moderator Shaz =) thank you for putting my post on the correct place =) well do you have and idea about my simple problem? I think I just misunderstood something on Yanfly's script Lunatic damage. Any clues you can give to me? =)

Only if you need what they provide...

because basically, Lunatic Script exists so that you can create your own custom methods and use them with ease rather than writing the whole thing on your own (writing the formula only instead of writing the formula + editing the battle scene to use them)... 

also, you create these custom methods in a script and not in the skill notebox... you use the notebox to link the skill to the custom method that you made...

What you put inside the custom damage tags are the names of the custom formulas that you made in the script, not the formulas themselves... in your case you placed a formula rather than the name of a formula which is why it returned as null...

so for example:

to do what you want, you would do this in a script:

(ADD this to the lunatic damage calculation)

when /MACHANDAMAGE/i

    value += 999 + a.atk * 40 - b.def * 20

then on the skill notebox, you would do something like:

<custom damage: MACHANDAMAGE>

or

<custom damage>

machandamage

</custom damage>

PS: If you only want custom damage, you don't need Lunatic Damage since you can simply change what is written in the formula box in order to change the damage

I got already the idea earlier, I was able to create my own custom formulas XD it was easy hahaha thanks to Yanfly XD
