    I have been wondering about this; after I finally found a Journal script.

    Is it possible to add a switch on it? I want the journal to show on the menu screen when its switch turns on at some point on the game or when the player received/acquired the needed "item" to activate the journal.

    Certainly.

    Add in
    Switch = 1 # change to your desired switch
    to the module. Maybe line 80.

    Then modify the menu command to show up when the switch is on, like this
    add_command(RETCON::Journal::Name, :journal, $game_party.journal_active) if $game_switches[RETCON::Journal::Switch]
    line 415

    I tried putting it in like 415 but it gave me an error so I tried putting it in line 417-418:

    But it still gave me this error:

    Edit: Wait. It worked now. I just added another end in line 421. The problem now is that the journal is still active or is shown even if the switch isn't on yet.

    Edit: Nevermind! I got it to worked now xD I read your reply again and tried putting the if back to the same line with the add_command.

    Thank you!
