Hi!

So I've been fiddling and I decided I wanted to make Use items a skill command,I know the script call for the item menu,but not for an actors item scene (the one used in battle),anyone have any solutions.

try calling the same method as that called by the default item command?

def command_item

    @item_window.refresh

    @item_window.show.activate

  end

I appreciate the quick reply,however the command didn't seem to do anything.

How did you add it as a skill command btw? and where? this would only work in battle...

My apologies for the late reply.I did it to spare up space in the battle screen,I hate when it goes over 4 and you have to scroll down.

I just made the skill call the Common event.

ah I think it doesn't work directly because you try to call it from the CE, which means it calls from Interpreter and not from Scene_Battle... just try to do something like

SceneManager.scene.command_item

Of course, because it opens up the battle scene's item window... isn't that what you wanted??

Sorry,I may have elaborated on it,it loads the item menu but it does not allow me to use it,it just overlaps the character portraits,sorry for the no elaboration.

oh wait, it could be that the common event interferes with it...

You can choose to make the skill actually call up the item window directly via modifying the skill ok handler, so that it won't run it via common events... basically you find the on_skill_ok handler in scene_battle and then add a conditional check such that if the skill id is equal to the id of the item skill, it opens up the item window instead of running the normal methods that run upon skill usage...

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
