    Hello.

I want to use customized Choices menu. Default "Add choice" and "Show choices" commands do not meet my visual style and location needs. As for action-based common events with the same functions, they don't give a possibility to jump to label - only call scene. I tried to customize common event myself, but failed to add "Jump to label" command into common event parameter.

Would appreciate any help to solve this problem.

Maybe someone could help me with customizing default Choices menu - at least font and background? Or at least font...

    Hello pavsikakyj,
I think I can help, this is assuming that you know how to edit the graphics/fonts/position of the common events for Show Choice.
First, you can go to the "Add Choice" common event.
    • Label "Call Scene" to "Label Name"
    • Change parameter of "Scene" to "Text Value"
    • Optional - rename variable "Scene ID" to something like "Label ID"
    1.png

Second, you can go to the "Show Choice" common event.

    • At the very end of the commands, delete or indent "Call Scene" command
    • Add "Jump to label" command with parameters:
Name: Variable "L:0002" or in this case "Choice Action"
Target: Active Scene *It's important that you set it as Scene not Context or it will not work properly*
    2.png

Third, use command "Call Common Event" as per Sample Project for choices, add in your labels and you're good to go!

Good luck! (I uploaded guided photos for clarity)

    Hi, Lostboy!

Thank you for your concern! I have done right as you described. I tried about 30 times. But when I launch my VN, the choices are inactive. I can't click on it.

    Hi again pavsikakyj,

It's unfortunate that it did not work out for you.
Do the hover for the choices still work fine?
Did you try to edit the common events from a fresh project? (Perhaps you altered something in your first attempt and forgot to change it back?)
I'm not sure what's the problem without having a look at your code because it seems to work fine on my end.
If you want, maybe upload a SS of your code and I'll compare it with what I have.

You are right - I probably messed something up, as far as hover doesn't work. Is there a way to restore common events to defaults, not begining a new projects?

Easy, just create or open a new project, copy those common events and paste into your current project.

Okay, I created new project and it works. Though, as I understand, I can't copy theese common events - just change existing - right? One more question: can I restore all common events from new project at once or should I copy them one by one?

    Thank you one more time!

Just copy/paste the ones that you need, as in this case the "Show Choice" and "Add choice".
I would delete the old common events for Show and Add Choice and then paste the new one in it's place.
You can paste in the edited ones that are working or you can go through the steps again, either way it should work unless you changed some of the variables.
Also, you can make a backup of your project if something should go horribly wrong, although I hope not!
Best of luck on your project!

Edit: I wouldn't replace all the premade common events unless you know what you're doing as you will have to update the existing Title/Setting/Save/ETC menus to refer to the new common events (It will show up as [Call Common Event(none)].)
However you can copy/paste the commands inside the event and it shouldn't affect the default UI, yes just change the existing is the safer bet.

You don't need to change scenes! Use labels. Although I am confused by what you mean?

That's may bad, sorry. Your extetion is a miracle. Thank you for your help.

Archeia, I got one more question:
if I change the size of pictures fo choises, which names are in script, will it change the hotspot size (which ia automatically adjusted to image as I understand)?

and can I change the position of autochoices button in script?

For both questions, that's where you use the direct property of add choices command. The script doesn't need to be touched at all.

Please let me explain. Here is how AutoChoices look with your script:
    s1.jpg
Text is allocatred properly. And all I actuallly need is to put down choices menus to the lower half of the screen.

But when I try direct placing, happens something like this:

    s2.jpg
So I want to ask, how to allign text to graphic boxes?

Or may be it would be easier to change height of autochoices in some script?

Hmmm... I changed the size of the idle and hover background Images. May it be the reason? Is it possible to change spacing between choice bars?

Changing the images don't affect it. If you check the code it should be obvious.
Check your script editor and make sure it looks like this:
