Hey there, so I've read the posts before this and tried my best to fix my dilemma, but some new problems arose.

I downloaded RPG Maker VX Ace from another site on my cell, since its the only device that connects to WiFi at my work. I get how and transfer the files, and I get a "reminder" window that is probably the activation window. But I can't tell because I am offline and cannot display this page.

So I lug my laptop to work and it still doesn't connect.

Then I read of getting a new trial on the website, how it connects better and such.

Problem is, I try downloading the trial on my cell and get lines of unintelligible text. I try again and my "email has already been subscribed"

I can't download the trial version on my pc because it's too slow, only my cellphone on WiFi.

Am i screwed to ever make my own game? :'(

If a download on your cell results in garbled text, then the MIME types in your cell's browser do not recognize the exe-type files. If you change that, it will be able to download exe's correctly.

You'll probably get a direct link to the trial from someone from Degica shortly, I don't have that link.

But to activate the trial, that computer needs to have an online connection for that first launch, or you won't be able to use the trial.

Alternatively you can try to install and use the Steam-Versions - steam can download even with very slow connections, it will only take longer.

And if you search and wait a bit for a steam sale of Ace, you can usually get it very cheap (80-85% off).

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
