Activation Issues Solved!

Could these be the same issues for Ubuntu users as well? I can get ACE to install perfectly, but connecting to the internet always fails. I have yet to try the solutions on Ubuntu, because its updating, but I will provide "it works" or "it doesn't work" when I'm done.

I wanted to take the time to thank you for the guide. It didn't end up working for me (I did end up getting working just by setting up Port Forwarding on port 80 to my system), but it's good that there's resources for people to fall back on. So once again, thanks, Mako.

A deep breath and several episodes of FMA later and the activation via proxy seems to be working. Many thanks for all your help and suggestions! Especially to you Mako, you're a real asset to this forum.

For anyone else who's having issues, proxy [216.155.139.115] port [3128] worked really well and is very fast.

Could you be a bit more specific? I'm having the same problem you were and I'm not sure if that means you left it running, trying to connect to the activation server while you went and did other things, or if you went away for a while and came back and tried it again and suddenly it worked this time?

I've turned off my firewall, I've got 32 bit Windows 7, I've connected to a proxy and the internet works fine, I'm using it right now to write this but RPG Maker VX still seems to be stuck perpetually "Connecting to the activation server"

This is still necessary (and working) today.  just activated my copy (in a Windows virtual machine, on a Mac), so now I'm good to create on the go. Bravo, Mako!

Firewall has little to do with it, did you try all of the proxies? Is there any error code you are getting?

You guys can ask for a steam key instead because of DRM differences.

I'm having a problem with this solution too, but it's probably my fault for not understanding something.

I followed all of the instructions and input the information for the proxy server, made sure the bypass setting is checked and everything, but when I click "OK", and go back to "internet properties", I can't hit the "apply" button. When I click the "LAN settings" again, none of the info I put there is there anymore.

I tried activating Ace just to see if it worked anyway but it didn't.

What am I doing wrong?

If you redownload vxace, it should have a new DRM ready with offline unlock.
