Actor Battlers vs. Actor Battlers

    I'm looking to be able to select battle images from the Character Generator as enemies.

    I can do the static replacement, but the animated version would be great.

    Here is an idea on how I might solve this...

    Maybe just add more than one "party" menu, and label it bad guys. This might just be a matter of

    *flipping the image

    *setting new "party locations"

    *attack pattern

    Taking this approach would also make these bosses or enemies capable of leveling like heroes. I'd assume this is going to slow down renders, but I'm just a wanna-be code monkey. The call common event, could be evil(int,int) for the address of the creature, and the level. This does not address the issue of attack patterns that are present in the current enemy methods. I'm not sure if feeding in comments from the character sheet, to the enemy methods would fix it .

    So, just to recap. All I really want is character battlers animations as enemies. Thanks for reading.

    Wow, I was actually thinking of this not even 20 mins ago.  They did this in early Final Fantasy games (think FF4 and FF6) and I would love to have this.  It would be used for story-based battles and would be pretty awesome.  Hope this gets made!

    Animated battlers is requested by many so I'm pretty sure sooner or later, it will come out!  :guffaw:

    You just want actors battling each other?  You can already do that - just set up an enemy to have one of your actor's sprites, then crop your actor's sprite to a single frame, flip it so it's facing right, and save it in the enemies or sv_enemies folder.

    They wouldn't be animated though right? That'd seem a bit weird when the enemies aren't moving but the actors are. Though I guess that's about as close as you can get at the moment.

    I'll give it a try though to see if it looks as awkward as I'm picturing.

    I'm also waiting on this lol. Just when I was getting good at ruby they come out with Js *cries in a corner* I didn't want to order this to early cuz I knew there was going to be lack of plugins at first but this community is fast acting. Thanks in advance for anyone who does it if they do it and I will be waiting here patiently :)

    Oh - I didn't realise when I approved your post that it was in someone else's thread.  You didn't ask for animated battlers, and I didn't see the OP.   Yeah, cropping to a single frame wouldn't give you animation.

    Sorry I thought actor battlers vs actor battlers implied them being animated. If I got the wrong idea my bad.

    I actually gave advice on how to do the static image in another thread. I want them to move like the heroes do.
