Ok I've been stuck on this forever, and it's driving me insane.

I'm trying to be able to use 8D sprite sheets as enemy battlers.

I'm using Yanfly's engine, with Yami symphony.

I've looked around, and i can't find anything but vague answers. When I ask questions, and I want something, I don't want to hear multiple options, because my brain is messed up and can't handle that.

All I want is to be able to use the same sprite sheets that i use for my side view battle actors for my enemy battlers. I don't care what method, I just want something that works. If I run into a problem with it that conflicts with something i want to do in the future, I'll adress that, but right now that's not the problem.

I looked at victor's actors battlers, and it's a sideview battle engine. I already have symphony so i don't need that.

Or do I? Do I have to set aside battle symphony?

I can't "experiment" with scripts.

I am NOT looking for resources. I'm just looking for a mechanic that lets me use a sprite sheet in place of an enemy battler.

You can use 8D actors you just have to have the add on script and name the sheet right.

Do you have the 8d add on script?

First off read this

http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/19884-a-guide-to-yamis-battle-symphony/

https://github.com/suppayami/rmvxa-collection

and I am not seeing it there since Yami Symphony site is down.

Maybe thats why you dont have it.

I am not sure if I can post it here. Will be back in five mins.

Edit-pmed you about this.

Ok, Yami's has the system. All the scripts are there. You mentioned the notetag. I've placed the appropriate(?) notetag in the enemy notes, but does not seem to be reading it correctly. It's treating it as a 3x4 sheet, rather than an 8D sheet.

The 8d sheets work as actors.

The 8d sheet I'm trying to get to work is named "Actor_010_8D", so the notetag I've used is <holder battlers: Actor_010_8D>, which doesn't seem to do the job.

You should not need to use holder battler there... If you already have the 8D add-on, just use
Code:
<battler set: (char filename), 0>
for example,
Code:
<battler set: Actor110_8D, 0>
Edit: Also, make sure that the character sheet is in the correct folder. They should be stored in Graphics/Characters, not Graphics/Battlers

Sorry for the old post but I feel I have some relevant information for a question I had about 8d battlers that seems relevant. Basically how would you give them a weapon? To do this I believe you simply utilize symphony tags and make custom skills for your 8d battler that have a specific icon called in them.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
