Hello I'm trying to use a Side View Actor sprite as an enemy in my game, however I am having some difficulty doing this. I'm already using @Rexal's AnimatedSVEnemies plugin in my game to scale down one of the bosses, so I thought it would be easy to use if for this too. I can't get it to work.

This is how the settings look in Rexal's Master Demo for an enemy that uses a Side View Actor sprite so I basically copy pasted the settings into my game.

Only it doesn't work in mine for some reason I can't figure out. I looked online for a tutorial using this plugin but all I could find was tutorials for Yanfly's which reqiures his Battle Engine to work, and I'd rather not have to mess with a plugin that changes how battle's work this late in development if I don't have to... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Link to plugin?

What exactly is not working?  What happens when you play it?

Why do you need a plugin to scale down a sprite?  Why not just scale it manually and save the file with the correct size?  I imagine scaling on-the-fly would be a processing overhead that you could do without.

Here is a link to the plugin I am using. ^

This is what I was wanting, the side view characters as enemies but when I play itScreenshot (37).png

The game uses whatever enemy picture I put or there's no enemy if I don't select one. I copy pasted the everything in the notes section of both the Cosmos enemy pictured in my original post and the side view actors in the picture above this one, and neither works, it just uses the enemy pics as usual.

The Tsuchigumo boss sprite from the 12th(?) MV freebies was so large his face was coming off the screen so I needed to shrink him slightly, I thought I had tried scaling the file and it didn't work, and therefore plugin.

You still need to set an enemy sprite.

Also, the animated enemies sprite does NOT give you animations like the actors.  The screenshots you have shown use two different plugins.  Animated Enemies simply animates a single enemy sprite by reshaping/distorting it.  The screenshot that shows the actor-like enemy sprites, with weapons and action animations is a different plugin.

I have selected an enemy sprite, I only DIDN'T select one when I couldn't think of anything else to try. I went back and forth between my game and his Master Demo to make sure I wasn't messing anything up and I couldn't find anything I was missing or not doing... Sigh, guess I'm just gonna switch over to Yanfly's plugin and see if that works because I can't seem to figure this thing out. Thanks for trying to help though,

You're too impatient :)

You only posted your request for help an hour ago, and only provided part of the information required.  I am the only person who's responded so far, and I'm not familiar with the plugin so can't give you an answer within seconds.  If switching over to Yanfly's plugin is such a terrible thing, at least give people a chance to see your post and help you (posting in the correct forum - in this case JS Plugin Support - would also have helped, or even in the thread for the plugin, to get the attention of the plugin's creator).

Just be patient a bit - go find something else to work on while waiting for someone who's familiar with this plugin to take a look at what you've done.  Allow a couple of days for someone to give you the solution, though I doubt it will take anywhere near that long.  I'm sure there are other parts of your game you can work on, without it having to come to a standstill while you're waiting for a solution to this issue ;)

Lol I know I'm too impatient!  :p  I just get frustrated when I can't seem to get something to work right, doubly so now when I'm so close to being done! This is one of an increasingly short list of things I need to work on. Though with that being said I do have other things I need to work on so I think I'll take your advice and give it awhile. Or not.  :)

Never mind I got it to work perfectly with Yanfly's plugins  :D  I managed to get it set up and working in under an hour.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
