I know there's a little check mark in the DATABASE under the SYSTEM tab that says "Reserve Members' EXP".  Checked or not checked, the actors that are not in the group are not getting any EXP at all.  Is there something I'm missing that I'm not adding?  I found this post about it.

http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/16565-reserve-party-and-experience/

I checked and the Game_Actor line is set just like Shaz says it should be set at.

There has to be at least 5 party members in the group for it to work, the 5th member gets the exp you are talking about. If they're not in the group then they wont get exp, at least that's how i understand it.

First, are you using any party script? or any other script that might be modifying exp?

I'm just using 3 scripts.

Yanfly Battlers, No Battle Tint, and Zeus Light and Shadows.

Not sure if this will help you much but because I use scripts that change exp handling, that feature also doesn't work with me. What I do when I am ready to add an actor to the party is store the actor with the highest level into a variable then use that to change the character you want to have a level change for.

If they are NOT IN your party, they will not get EXP. If they are IN your party but not in the first 4 of the lineup (ie - they are 'reserve members' but not 'battlers'), then they will get EXP if you have that box checked. If they haven't been added, or they've been removed, via the Change Party command, then they're not IN your party. Maybe that's where the confusion is?

yes, that misunderstanding is a possibility

Reserved Members = Actors in party but don't participate in battle

Maybe you can remove exp reward from enemies in the database, then create variables to store exp rewards for every enemy, then insert a change exp command at the end of every troop event for entire party (or one for every actor if entire party doesn't work for those who are not in the current group). I think you can also collect all actor IDs from seperate variables under a single variable and pull from that too. I know this sounds like too much work but this is all I can come up with : p There must be a simpler way to do it though.

That's exactly what the problem is then.  I have them removed from the party when they are "parked" in the waiting area.  I thought the actors where suppose to still get the EXP even when parked.  Is there a max number of "reserve members" because I have 10 possible companion members.  Or maybe I can do some variable command to auto level the companions when the player selects them to join the group.  Hmm.......

If the actors are not in the party, then they don't exist as far as the engine is concerned.

There is no limit to the number of reserve members, I've heard of games with party sizes of 30+

If you want an actor to be leveled up to the current party level, just check that level and add those levels by event commands when you add that actor to the party.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
