Add in the RPG Maker MV mode 32x32 tiles.
  • The idea is to return the possibility of mapping with a 32x32 tile size but not replacing the mapping in the size 48x48
  • Here are some images of the feature I would like.

This feature is great because of the following:
  • RPG Maker XP, RPG Maker VX and RPG Maker VX Ace had a mapping of 32x32 but RPG Maker MV has a tile size of 48x48. I know why this is done, but dlc from VX Ace without loss of quality or third-party plugins will not work in RPG Maker MV. This idea is good because it will be possible to choose which mode to map. Standard in 48x48 but the zaliniem will be possible and in 32x32
  • You do not have to take the time to convert Tileset from VX Ace to MV.
  • Eliminate the need to increase the size of tiles from 32x32 to 48x48, which in most cases leads to quality loss.

There is a plugin called "change tile size" which does change the tile size ingame to whatever you want. Only downside is that u have to upscale the ressources to map in the maker. The game will use the original 32px tilesets.

I don't think it's necessary.

You can use stuff like Waifu2x to upscale without almost any quality loss, and also can use the plugin given above to force using 32x32 tilesets.

For those saying "it exists a plugin that makes that" or "use this image resizer", I will tell you what: it is not the same.

This user is asking for an implementation inside the engine, not for a plugin that can be limited with compatibility issues with other plugins, or an image resizer that makes an image larger with a poorly result (even if it's Waifu2x or Photoshop). The question here is if you are agree with this implementation or not.

I'm agree with the implementation inside RPG Maker MV, and that is something people is asking since the release of the engine, and need to be heard by the developers. If you are not agree, is simple: vote no, and leave the post, and stop harasing with your comments about plugins, image resizers or whatever you think "is better", thanks.

@Oscar92player while you're correct in principe, there are reasons why this functions has so far only be provided by plugin - there are several side effects and disadvantages involved in this idea.
It would imho need a very massive number of users requesting this before Kodakawa even thinks on handling this change. You can be lucky of course (which is why these suggestions are allowed and voted on), but personally I don't give it a good chance.

Thing is, this has already been suggested
https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/change-grid-size-in-editor.74724/
and it's got a lot of support. 106 yes's to 3 no's; that's like a 33:1 in favor of being able to do this which would statistically give you that supposed huge number of users Kadokawa would need. I just think it's so weird that we can't do this by default... Like Hudell said in the other thread, the engine already supports multiple tile sizes, it's just the editor that doesn't and I don't get why there's such a disconnect.

I've asked many times, but still can't get a clear answer as to why change would cause issues within the editor. Can someone explain it to me? It seems like it's just replacing a static size (48) with a variable that could be set in the database and that's really not a big thing at all.

Perhaps this post has not a massive number of votes saying yes...?
Flexible and Powerful Tile Map Editor

Or maybe this one?
Change grid size in editor

And others who have requested the same functions like in XP, alowing better customization and configuration of tiles and layers. Are those, too, not massive requests from the users? There are hundreds of votes saying "YES", and those posts have no answer. Also, one of them is made by Archeia, a developer, giving data and information regarding the pros and possible issues with details. I don't think is a problem of limitations of the engine, but a problem with the developers of Kadokawa, that are ignoring what the users want.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
