Greetings. Sorry for not being very explicative with the title. I'm a completely newbie so, I hope I don't cause all of you a headache.

I just bought RPG Maker MV (yesterday) through the web site and activated it on Steam with the key I received on my email. The thing is, on that email I received the Setup for RPGMV along 6 more items. This is the name of them:

BaseResource (rar)
Extra-Assets (executable)
extra-assets (rar)
img_compressed (rar)
parallax_Resource_Pack (rar)
rm-mv-plug-ins (rar)

On that same email if I remember correctly, it is said that I had to add manually the content (if I was interest) for each project. So, questions.

-Do I have to run RPGMV and then, inside of it, load the content of the rar I want to for each individual project?
-Can I add them through Steam somehow?
-Can I add them directly on the folder that It has been created on my computer for RPGMV? If yes, Wouldn't I have all the contents added on those folders for all the projects I start from now on?

Since I'm a newbie my head works like: 'you add the extra content, you have them every time you want', but I have my doubts. However I don't know on which folders should I put them. So... yes, I'd appreciate your help.

Thank you for your time and sorry for the inconvenience I may cause.

1) some of the resources should be automatically added through steam when you activate it, just go to the resource manager (a tool in the editor menu) and click on DLC, that will bring you automatically to the steam DLC folders where some of those should be available as well as any DLC purchased through steam.

2) you need to add each file individually if you're planning to use it.
That is the reason why those resources are in different setups because yes, once they are added to the project it will increase the size of that project - but only of that project, not all of them.
Which is also the reason why you should not add them to the folders created for new projects in your editor folder - because yes, adding them there will add them to every project created from then on, no matter if the resource is used there or not.

3) Basically everything goes into a subfolder of the project, and the subfolders are named for what they contain. That use should be obvious on checking the folders and their contents, and if you follow the tutorials it should also become easy quickly.
Do not try to use the program without at least a minimum tutorial to guide you learning - you can use the link "starting point for new users" in my signature to find the more important tutorials. all of them work for both Ace and MV as there are only minor differences with events between Ace and MV, it's just the scripting side that is completely incompatible (and as a new user you should stay away from plugins until you have the basics).

Thank you for your answer. It makes a lot sense now that every resource must be added manually. I didn't consider at first the weight that all projects would share otherwise.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
