Hey guys,

I'm having trouble with adding my own music in VX Ace. I've tried multiple ways of exporting the files in both .MP3 and .ogg format.

I don't know what i'm doing wrong. The music won't playback when I look it up in the resource manager.

Does anyone know how this can be solved?

Any feedback is appreciated :D

greets,

Niksuto.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.......Usually you should just put it in the Audio/BGM folder of your project then it works, try playing the songs in Sound Test, maybe? If it doesn't work then it's probably a problem with your audio and not the program :3

I get this problem with certain songs (thankfully not the ones that I'm actually using). Not sure what does it, though. Do the specific pieces of music in question playback in game?

The song might be rendered unplayable when you change the file type to .ogg. That's what happened to me.

The problem is most probably at another place - the export/saving options of the audio program.

MP3 (and most probably also OGG, I don't know that) isn't a "single" file format, it's a type of formatting that might use one of dozens of different compression formats. Those formats are constantly improved to make the resulting audiofile smaller and/or better.

As a result older programs might get problems opening files with variants that use newer or more exotic compression formats - simply bcause they're missing the codec for decompression used by that file variant.

Try saving the audio with different options/rates from your audio program and see if that helps.

Here is a youtube video on how to do it.  Also, I used "windows media player" to rip a CD and the music from that worked for me.

I have tried, several times to understand how Markiplier is popular. You can't deny his popularity. I can only get through a few minutes of his vids, though. He's cringier than ANY cringe comp I've ever watched. When I was a kid, if you acted like that, 0 friends and 100% no dates for you. Times have changed XD

So, my roommates wrote a news article in English, translated it into Bengali with google translate and now I'm helping them fix the monstrosity which was the result. Making English the medium of education is fine... but not to an extent that we forget how to write properly in our own language :")
