I am trying to implement an additional accessory slot at a particular point in the story. So far I've hit a blank wall.

I have found a plugin which can give additional slots here, but if I have understood it correctly, these can only be added at the beginning, rather than during the game.

Can anyone give me pointers at least? I have VS plugins.

Probably going to need a plugin or something unique with VS for this I'm afraid. I'll move you to Plug-in support.

Most people (including yanfly) are only giving static equip slots with their plugins, as can be easily seen by them all using notetags.

What you want is dynamic equip slots, which means having a script command to add equip slots at some point later in the story.
The only one I ever found to have programmed dynamic equip slots is Tsukihime (both for Ace and MV), but Tsukihime never made MZ plugins.

You can try to check if his MV plugin can be transferred using FOSSIL.

Other than that the key is finding an MZ equip slot plugin that gives a script command for adding slots, no plugin that limits itself to notetags will work later in the game.


EDIT:
The pluign you linked might have a workaround if you make different actors with different static equipment slots for early and later story parts, and then change the actor when you come to that part.
But that will have its own problems with transfering actor values and so on.

@Andar Thanks for the info.
I looked at the relevant page on Tsukihime's web site and it seems that although the plugin allows for more than one slot for each type of gear, these aren't added dynamically, which is the very thing that I need.

You may want to add or remove equip slots during the game.
To add an equip slot, use the script call

ACTOR.addEquipSlot(ETYPE)

Where the ACTOR is a reference to a Game_Actor object, and the ETYPE is the name or ID of the equip slot you want to add.

Heya,

If you're using Visustella--does this section of the Equips core suit your needs?


Scroll down a tiny bit to see the 'Change Equip Slots' plugin command details. Granted, it doesn't just add a new slot on top of the existing ones, you'd have to define all the old ones still that you had by default, with the extra accessory slot included. But it seems like it might be what you're looking for without potentially having to dip into the unpredictable nature of FOSSIL'd plugins. Another option to look at, at the very least and see what might suit your needs best!

@FrigidGaze I'll certainly look into that. I have had a couple of problems with FOSSIL, so it might be best to avoid adding any more plugins to it if I can.

Just sorted out all the advent resources... there might be minor changes, but I'd say, I'm done.

Well, for anyone who cares, Simone has been eating her prescription food for a few weeks and I’m cautiously optimistic it’s helping her quite a bit. She still hasn’t put on any weight but she’s not getting sick every day (has even gone a week between sick days).
