Hello RPGmaker users! I'm creating a choose your own adventure, text based, and I obviously need to give the player numerous choices or else it would be a boring and linear adventure. My question is, when the player makes the wrong decision, how do I bring them back to the previous line of text so that they may choose an alternative option? I'm trying to create the whole CYOA in a single event.

Thanks!

Edit: sorry for double posting.

Would a loop solve my problem?

Labels is for when you're jumping back into the same event. If you're doing it all in a single event, then labels is what you want. Look at them as anchor points.

"StartHere"
Text: blahblah
Choice: 1,2
wrong choice!
Go to label "StartHere"

A crude example of labels. Name a label at the point you want to jump back into the event, and then use the command "jump to label" and type in your label, to make that event jump back to that point.

One more quick question for you if you don't mind. I tried using that label method to jump to the second page of my event (in attempt to have some form of organization ) and it broke my event. Do I need to set up a switch instead of a label?

dude, edit your post. Celianna already pointed that out.

Labels are only active within a page. If you want to activate a different page, you need to use the conditions in the top left portion. So yes, a switch or a self switch if it's only that event that's being affected.

[mod]Last verbal warning @YourClosetLlama, we don't want people double posting here, especially after a moderator already told them not to. Please edit your previous post if you've got something else to add. This is a forum, not a chat room.[/mod]

Labels only work for that event page, if you want to switch to another event page, you'd need to use other conditions like a switch, self switch or a variable.

Are we allowed to post about non-RPG Maker games? And, if so, would any of you be interested in a short, proof of concept type non-euclidian puzzle game?
I should realize that error was produced by a outdated version of MZ so that's why it pop up like that

How many hours have you got in mz so far?

A bit of a "sparkle" update to the lower portion of the world map. :LZSexcite:
