For repeated things I just use triggers. For example you can see my lighting system on a few pages back I think. The reason for this is minimal lines in an event. I doubt it would make much difference though to be honest. It is just easier for me to organize multiple things like that. 7PM to 7AM the lights are which that trigger turns on LIGHT I think is what I called it. When it reaches 8 AM the lights turn off until 7PM again.

You don't need to use triggers for this, I just find it more organizing then doing every light with the script string in it. So I plug in the commands in a common event and a side event on map to turn on or off the triggers and the magic happens.

=) I checked out the light script you did as well! I'm new to common events so I'm a little worried about pulling it off properly. But although I love khas's light effects, I feel like it'll just lag too much on certain conditions especially w. a lot of events even with an anti lag script. 

So, I was wondering, if you're light effect using common script would be better for the lag problem? xD and also do you happen to have a demo I can check out or if you could teach me how to make my own "light" effect >_<

Hello, I really loves this script and the Khas light effect script. However, when I use to Notint option it works, but that Notint affect carry to the maps I want tinted. I have your v1.5 and his v1.0. I haven't been ale to get it to work. I was wondering if you could tell me why or is there like a TintOn option that I didn't notice for the maps I want it on for?

hm never happened to me, but try this out, put an event on parallel process for trigger and on the script put GameTime.pause_tint(true). This will pause the tint turning the tint off the map you put the event with this script in. Hope it works!

Nope :( It just pauses the tint, not turn it off. I tried it will the Notint too, but the Notint still carried to the other maps.

You shouldn't lag with what I am doing with the lighting system I am using. (All using Vlue's Time system, I do not edit, just make events so that it does what it needs to do).

On every transfer going into a building you need to turn the switch off so it doesn't run in the background. When you leave a building going into the outside that has lighting effect, you turn the trigger on. So just turn it on and off depending on what has lighting effects and what doesn't.

How do you save the tint from one map when transferring? I want it to be dark in a cave and when you leave, restore the previous tint.

I'm not sure what you mean, if the cave is marked Notint and the map outside it is not, then when you enter the cave you can set it to whatever tint you want and when you leave the cave the tint will return to what it should be based on the time.

I set my cave to Notint and changed the tone when entering the cave, but when you leave the tint isn't restored from what it was previously. :/

ALL IS LOST!!

Here's the thing, which I just remembered after playing around with it, Advanced Game Time uses it's own tinty.. thingy. So you go into the cave and you change the built in tint to whatever you want, but when you leave the cave, if you dont clear the tint, then it'll be the built in tint on top of the Advanced Game Time tint. So just have your transfer event clear the tint upon leaving the cave and it won't interfere with AGT's tinty thingy.

Hello, the Notint option is working but no matter what I do it keeps carrying over to the maps that aren't Notint too. I'm using this script and the Khas Awesome Light effects. The Notint makes the my house not tinted like i want but when I go outside that map is in Notint form too, even though it should go back to the tint based off of what time it is. Please help.

Hey, sorry to bug you. But I'm using the Real Time option you have in your script, but I'm having a problem with it.

I wanted to see if the tint would change if I changed the time.

So, say I started up the game, and it was 9:00am.

Okay, 9:00am, cool, it looks like it's morning and stuff, very nice.

If I go to the time on my PC, and change it to 9:00pm, and click back on the game, the tint doesnt change. It just stays the same!

I've tried transferring the player to a different map to see if it changes, but it doesn't. It still looks like morning.

Please help meeee!  :stache:

are you sure you modified the tint settings to have a darker shade at night?

Yeah, all the tints are done, I've checked all of them, but they don't change. What if the player plays my game from 1am to 10pm? D: They'll never see the light of dayyy D:

Who needs to see the light of day...


To reduce stress, the tint is only updated once at the start of every minute.


The real time tint does work, but if you manually change the hour on your pc, the tint change won't be reflected until the next minute.

An optimal price for an indie game on Steam also needs to be accompanied by an optimal sales discount %.
