Oh dear, how to describe this project? It's a comicbook/manga story about a thief, magic, invading monsters from an alternate world, a cyborg, comedy duo cops, a superheroine with a god complex, society freaking out over sudden changes in the rules of reality, and a few romances. And that's only part one. A couple of my friends and I will be working on it together.
Hmm...I did Camp Nano last year, but this year, probably not. I am much more in the "game dev" mood over the "fantasy writing" mood right now, and the game I'm working on is heavily story-based, so that also drains any motivation to go and continue my Nano novel. But who knows, although I certainly won't aim to write another 50k words in April, I might still sit down a few times and try to get a couple chapters done at the very least.
I'm actually optimistic about this. I was only 5k short of goal in November, and probably could have made it if I wasn't a barely-erect zombie from dealing with holiday shoppers. But, now, in the spring, i think i may make it.
@Harmill: You know, Camp Nano is really flexible in it's goals, you could probably count your game writing for it and still join in.
@captainproton: Yay, got your interest! I've had the hardest time thinking of a way to summarize it, it's just so complex and doesn't fit into any genre. Sadly it's going to be a long time before it goes public, we're going to make sure the entire first arc is written out before we start drawing anything.
I keep reading about NanoWriMo... But I never knew if it was a contest or a project or had a goal and I am pretty confused by the motivational machine...
I imagined someone tried to write a novel and do a game with it when I first read what one of my contact typed me about him being in it! I was sure missing some deadline for a contest he had invited me in... But my first tongue is French so I never paid attention. But I see it is still up and going.
NaNoWriMo is a writing challenge held once a year in November, the name is actually a shortened form of "National Novel Writing Month". The goal is to write a 50,000 word novel in that month. It became very popular and so there have been a lot of spin off challenges, mostly by other people but the guys who run NaNoWriMo have done a few of their own, and this next month is Camp NaNoWriMo. It's the same idea as the November challenge. At one point the April challenge was Script Frenzy, a challenge to write 100 pages of script. Unfortunately, the NaNoWriMo people decided it wasn't popular enough and cancelled it.
Which reminds me--I'll have to stock up on different colors of Sharpie pens and get an outline knocked out tonight so i can hit the ground running tomorrow.
i can't wait to drink some ice after struggling with my illness in 9 days. 9 days is really bad for me,i can't focus with my shop and even can't do something with my project
