Most of my JSON files got corrupt. I took out all the corrupted files and replaced them with fresh ones. But see, the corrupted files were things like Troops, Skills, Classes, Armors and Weapons. I still have them, is there a way I can fix them? Because if not, then I'll have to redo all the weapons and armors and enemies.

When you say "corrupted" what exactly happened to them?

They don't open anymore. When I open the game project, it says that it was unable to read those files.

Not really - you can try to open them in an editor and see if the corruption is only a few letters at the wrong place, but usually it is more than that and the files aren't repairable.
Which is why we always tell the people to make backups

Additionally, you should look for the reason why the files have been corrupted, because that never happens without cause.
It can happen if Windows crashed while you were working on the editor, it can happen if the shutdown sequences of Windows are damaged, it can happen if your harddrive is short of total failure or it can happen if another program tried to access the files while the Editor was working on them.

The last point specifically includes a cloud synchronisation - you should never work directly on a cloud folder with autosync, that would be like playing russian roulette with your project files.

I tried to open them with an online editor, but it's all completely red and corrupted.

As I said, Online editors are bad, they're the same as cloud storages. Please use your simple notepad from windows as an editor to check the files.

That looks like the content has been completely overwritten, in which case there's no way to get it back.

When you say cloud folder with autosync, do you mean a system such as Dropbox? I currently keep everything on D-box because I've had hard drives fail too many times.
/hastily makes a backup of all her files

@feckyeslife yes, you should not work directly on projects in the dropbox folder - projects have been destroyed that way.
You can use dropbox for backup, just don't work on the project if it is in the dropbox folder.

Problem here is that the makers handle files like databasing programs: all files are open while the editor is working on the project, only closed when the editor closes the project. And if dropbox tries to sync a file with the internet while it is open, there is a very high chance of RIP to that file.
And no, the editor's can't handle the files differently, there are good reasons and advantages to that way of handling. Because doing otherwise would slow down working on the files a lot.

@Andar
Hmmm alright, well that makes sense. I'll let my husband know, too, since he does the same thing that I do. Thanks for the heads up!

It makes sense that the files are constantly open 'til the editor closes. It's just like a Word doc (albiet a bunch of files instead of just one).

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
