NOTE: This problem is related in some way with this post I've made a few weeks ago. However, I've learned that the problem I was having is more a Maker version related, than a compatibility problem with YEP plugins, so I would like to made a new thread to report it (instead of re-opening the last one) and search for help. Unfortunatelly, @Victor Sant is not as active as before in the forums, or updating his plugins. Also, tried with Modern Algebra Global Text Codes plugin, but it fixes only a half of the problem, since it happens with other windows or circumstances.
Hello, everyone! I've found a new issue related with SFonts.
This one in particular happens only with the latest version of RPG Maker MV, and for what I know, it is not a compatibility issue with YEP at all (but is noticiable only when using his plugins).
In some menus, related to battle, or help windows, I've noticed that sometimes, using the SFonts plugin (to use bitmap fonts instead of font files) along with Control Text plugin (that allows you to use text codes for message in almost every window), some of the fonts are not loaded, and it depends of the color of the font you are using.
Sometimes you see things like this one in the picture:
This window is supossed to show you the changes in the stats of your actor, and the font color is supossed to be green, but instead it shows nothing. The problem is gone after another window uses the same font color (in resume, after the first failure loading the font); see this picture below:
But this is not the only case. In those images I'm using a plugin made by YEP, that is correct, but it can happen with a normal window, like the one you see when entering a battle:
That message it's supossed to show "Bat draws near" with the word "Bat" in red colour, but you see that the font it's not loaded at all, and shows an empty space until the colour is white.
What is my conclusion?
I think this is related on how the new RPG Maker MV version (1.5.0) loads the images of the SFonts when using them with the Control Text plugin in plugin parameters, windows or other texts that are not supossed to use the text codes.
As I told you, this issues didn't happen with previous versions of the maker, even when using YEP plugins along with Victor's ones. Maybe we can find a solution for all the issues related to this.
And... what's the big idea?
My idea consists in update the SFonts plugin and Control Text, or... making a patch that mades both of them fully compatible with the newer version of MV.
A lot of changes were made in RPG Maker MV since the last updates for those plugins, and I think all this problems I have may be resolved if we can create a patch or update them in order to load all the bitmap fonts images correctly.
Hope you can help me!
UPDATE ABOUT THE ISSUE:
Well, I've tried some things I should tell you about this issue, since I was able to "solve" it, without using pacthes or update the plugins, and gives me the reason about my thoughs that this issue happens BECAUSE of the 1.5.0 update.
First of all, this issue didn't happen with the MV version 1.4.1, so the best I was able to do is to downgrade my project in order to avoid this issue. Not a problem, because 1.4.1 works even better than the v1.5.0.
But, recently, Yanfly edited the 1.5.0, and gived us an update. This update:
Imagine my surprise when I tried this update along with the SFonts and using the text codes in every window I can: Yep, this issue was solved.
This gives me the reason that something weird is happening with 1.5.0 when the game tries to load the SFont (and I think the unofficial update made by Yanfly touches PIXI, basically, so this can be related somehow). No error codes, and no logs in the Console window, so I cannot say what is 1.5.0 doing, but for some reason, the SFonts and text codes works perfectly when trying with Yanfly's version of 1.5.0.
This does not mean I want this thread closed, because we cannot use Yanfly's 1.5.0 update forever (since MV updates periodically, and Yanfly's version will be obsolet after a new version comes out).
