For one to be able to switch between systems, the systems themselves must be able to accommodate. This being one of two ways. Can one system work while keeping default scripts functioning, or can one system be turned off in-game without hampering the gameplay.

For example, I wrote an ABS battlesystem (think... 'Classic NES Zelda on steroids'). I wrote it in a manner so the battle damage systems wouldn't have any affect on the classic battlesystem. So I can fight with an ABS or with a classic battlesystem in one game.

So while it is possible for some games to switch between systems, it requires that those system be written to permit. This for any gaming engine, XP, VX, Ace, RPGMaker Moogle ( :p ) whatever.

Any VXAce users familiar with Khas?

Thank you for the knowledge. I will watch this thread and wait for an answer. I am willing to spend time on experimenting alternation between systems because it allows a game to be SO MUCH more fun.

I'm in the process of converting all locks and intimidate/persuade dialogue options into D20 DC based success/fail (modified by player skill). Before, it required a certain flat amount you had to meet, but with rolls, it offers more freedom. For instance, you can repeatedly try to unlock a door instead of just not meeting the requirement to unlock it.
Since we get very close: If you want to enjoy the advent calendar as it is intended, wait til your date and the day in the URL line up, so you have the final day on actual christmas and not the day before... time zones ;3
