While looking over my old XP games I have found that a lot of ideas for the battle system could be used for my newer games in VX Ace (no need to reinvent the wheel). My question is simple; will I be able to import my damage formulas wholesale from XP to Ace or is there some difference between engines in how they are calculated. Most of my damage formulas use the default values.

Mathematical rules haven't change since aristhoteles (or whoever was the first to think about calculations), and since all makers from Xp to Ace are ruby-based, that remains the same syntax.

However, the engine itself did change, XP had different actor values than Ace - you can't use names that don't exist anymore, you have to substitute how it was named later.

So it depends entirely on what kind of calculations you have done in those formulae.

Okay, this gives me an idea about what I should look out for during the import process. My question is more or less answered, but can the thread remain open in case I run into any related errors?

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
