I miss the time when I liked companies like Apple, Google, Amazon and even Microsoft. I remember them all as companies that offered me new possibilities before they turned into greedy monsters which do so much crap today.

It has pretty much "customers are stupid" kind of wipe on it. They chose to call it "confusion."

You would think clearly stating what a product supports would clear most of it. Plus most do research after something is bit more pricey than their meal.

I would neither call it "confusion" nor "customers are stupid".

I would call it "we try to force the customers to pay for our version of a movie store by disallowing devices that are intended for other people's movie stores".

Which is why it will fail - they forgot that such a force only works if the customers have a positive reason to stay with them, otherwise you'll just accelerate your failure.

The FireTV is pretty good, but almost everyone is going to either have a smartTV or a game console under their TV which is going to act as a hub.

The Xbox One actually fits this bill pretty nicely, I mean most people are just going to use Hulu or Netflix

I find it hard to fault Amazon for not wanting to give free shipping, hosting etc. to companies which do not offer services in kind and compete for their market share. This is standard operating procedure.

The Apple Store is the only place (or was the only place) to get iCrud. What should be expected in return?

I'm going to say something. Shouldn't come off as anything surprising nor particularly revealing.

Common Carriers. I think that, since the TPP, SOPA, PEPA, PIPA, POLLA and similar bullcrap, people should be familiar with that term.

Amazon should be acting as a Common Carrier. Amazon and a ****ton of other companies, but that's another story.

Since Amazon is not, blaming them for trying to eliminate competition is a perfectly rational accusation.

Now, is it fair to say otherwise? Well, as much as I don't like to admit it, yes. Amazon is not a common carrier after all, they can choose which products to provide and which not to. It can lead to seriously hosed up commercial tactics and agreements (EG: pretty much every northamerican ISPS), but they are not. And I don't think they're going to get labeled as one any time soon.

IDK, get the twitter brigades. Maybe they can roast them to exhaustion.

Me? I think they're doing bugger all for their consumers and, ultimately, doing a fummy effort to be more competitive.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
