This game is awesome !

For the OST of AoA... (no offense) I think at the moment you don't have the level compared to the graphics and the scenario :/ ! Have a original soundtrack is not a bad idea but I think you should recruit a dialer or still avec the music of Adrian von Ziegler.

I hope AoA will have a great original soundtrack in the future ^^ !

^I disagree. I think AK47 is a really good composer. And if he wants to be in charge of the music as well as designing the game, then more power to him.

Oh, and can you give us any tiny, vague idea as to when we might expect a demo? Next year, perhaps? Or hopefully sooner?

Why does the BGM of your introduction sequence sound exactly like this?

@amerk: Thanks a lot for your feedback. I hope we are both still alive. Jk ;)

@Cataclysm: Thanks. True, I have a very long way to go before I am somewhat competent at making music, I'm just starting out. But with everything, it takes time and practice to improve.

Question is, should I devote my time to practice or entirely free myself from it?

The reason for trying it myself, is that I am trying to convey specific types of emotions to go well with certain scenes, and you cannot always find the exact emotion you are after, unless it is custom built for your game.

@blueperiod: Thank you very much for your words of encouragement. :)

I have booked 2 weeks off work after the coming week and plan to spend most of the time working on the game. But two weeks is not enough, I plan to release a solid length demo by this Christmas.

@Solomon: Yep. That music was from the old demo, which was entirely composed of ripped music.

Yes, you've true. It takes time to have a good level. I encourage you to practice but today I think you should makes musics for something else that your game. And when you will have a good level I think you will makes music for your game ^^ !

I repeat me : I love AoA, it's my favorite RPG Maker's game ! I only wish the best for your game ^^ !

I very much enjoy the tune...it does seem to have a strange time signature...is this intentional? the mix of all the sounds involved is very well arranged...I'm just not sure if the rhythm and the timing is as catchy as you're wanting it to be. All-in-all, it's still very cool.

This and Linus are two of the most anticipated VX/Ace games. Glad to see this one is still going, AK47.

@kingmakerspider: Thanks for your feedback, I will try to sort out the timing. :)

@amerk: Thanks. I also can not wait for Linus!  :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!!

Unfortunately due to work and life, 2013 has not been a very productive year for AoA. My New Year's resolution is to try and deliver a lengthy demo.  :)

I have been working on the story and characters, the new build will be very different then the previous in these aspects.

You will play as several different POV characters and see how the story unfolds in different perspectives, but I won't spoil anything else.

A map that I'am currently working on:

Thank you for your support and patience thus far and I wish you a Happy New Year!

I LOVE the look of this! I've tried the old demo and enjoyed it, and I'd definitely play a new one.

That map is absolutely incredible - there's just one thing you could change, if your parallax map has multiple layers: put the white-blue mist coming off of the waterfall in a layer that displays above the character sprites. The map has wonderful depth, and having the character just stand on top of everything else makes it look a bit flat.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. :)

@GreatOminpotentDictator: Oops, you are right! I shall do that.

I am considering releasing an updated, version of the old demo (with chibi sprites).

Including Chapter 3 and some of the new features that were never released since I started working on the new version.

If you have been following the development of the game, you may recall the Alchemy, Loot Rarity,Rage, and some other systems.

Also, here is a early preview of a new feature dubbed "Chat Lines" still WIP but functional.

Basically, it's like a party banter system. The party will say some random stuff about their current situation and may give hints to the player, as shown in the video.

What they say will differ during the course of the game, the location they're in, and the situation they find themselves in. Any thoughts? :)

Following the process of this makes me just want to cover up my face in shame for my own project hahaha!

It's extraordinary well done, and it just screams professionalism about it in my opinion, The screens looks like It's taken from a game that has been published by a big gaming company. It's been a thrill to follow this and I'm glad that its still in the works!, can't wait for that new demo!

It's an interesting system for sure, but I don't think it would get much use from players if you have to go into a menu and talk to each character individually. It might be a better idea to have the character sprites lined up on top of their HP bars, and the banter above their heads in speech bubbles (and maybe not have all the characters speak at once, that might be too crowded.)

Even w/o the visual overhaul i forgot they were working on

i finished the demo and it was just plain amazing

i wanted to continue the game sooooo bad

as the creator of this understands what the word epic means

with amazing scenes in which i could imagine in my mind how they look on a  more animated lvl

just blew my mind

i personally consider this a must play for those wishing to see great games with the engine!

Hi Guys!

Thank you for the feedback. Sorry It's been a while. :)
Due to work/life this project was on Hiatus. However, now development is back on.

Here are some screenshots of a Map/Scene i'm working on

Video

Other aspects that are being worked on:
Story:
Those who have played the old demo might remember the quite lengthy Prologue. I have decided now to have the two time-lines play out in parallel. So you get to uncover the past through Ser Karn's perspective and explore the present in Zack's POV, jumping back and forth. This hopefully will keep the player intrigued as they play through the two different eras both with a set of different characters to get to know. Both the story lines will be redone from the last demo so expect something new.

Maps:
All maps are being redone to a scale/style as seen in the above screenshots.

Sprites:
Sprites are being redone to slightly larger VX models. This means I still get to use the same battle system without it looking odd if the sprites are too large.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
