An idea to spark competition.

Hey you mod lot at rpgforums! 

First off, love what you are doing with keeping this place in tip top shape!

I wanted to propose an idea to you, that i think would spark more interest/collaboration/competition among the artists listed here. 

I have always wanted to compete in other artists in terms of judgement,

So...

What if we had a section for the Top 10 of a specific item?

Artists would need to submit a piece or art,music,animation or whatever they wish to enter, (Category permitted) and then the public would take the month to vote on that item. 

Next month, another item, another vote. 

For example:

• Top 10 Soundtracks
• Top 10 Animations
• Top 10 Character Models
• Top 10 Stories
• Top 10 Backdrops

This could even be broken down and categorized into sections based on country too. 

It could also lead on to further competitions in which you could most likely benefit from it yourselves!

And This is a little more, upbeat, than a weekly art challenge. This would be a Ranking system of currently created items, not a judgement of requests.

The Weekly Art Challenge is grouped with Events & Academies and it's a main section of the forums. It's currently on week 21 and encourages all types of art submissions including music. There's been some really fun stuff posted there.


As for a competition where you rank resources already made for RM, as an artist that sounds more discouraging than encouraging. It would make me only want to post things considered "good enough" and all the other useful but not terribly impressive things would never see the light of day.

I think having a more comprehensive rank ordered listing like that is one of things that looks good on paper, but loses most to all of the appeal when put into practice.
