Greetings fellow RPG Makers!
I'm Kamui, a long-time silent-member of this fine community who has finally decided to brave the waters and say hello! I have been dabbling with RPG Makers since '95, when I first started making short games for my friends and family to play, and have enjoyed most of the RPG Maker engines ever since, right up through the marvelous MV. I have been a JRPG aficionado since childhood (back in the NES days) and ever since always imagined creating my own worlds like the ones that brought me so much joy as a kid. I think the medium of making a game is one of the most profound opportunities for artistic expression. Since I am both a writer and a composer, creating a game gives me the opportunity to put a huge part of myself into the final product. My current project in MV is a re-imagining of my own life in game form, dealing with some of the challenges I've faced growing up. It likely will remain among my close friends (never say never, right?), but even still, being able to create something so personal and share it with others, even if that circle is small, is an invaluable experience by itself. (Fun fact: I created a short RPG in VX ACE that concluded with a marriage proposal to my then boyfriend. He selected "yes"!).
As a I mentioned briefly above, I have a musical background and have been involved with composing and producing digital music off and on over the last 16 years. I am hopeful to finally get some of that music out there for other game designers to use and enjoy. That will probably take working up a little more courage but I'm hopeful it won't take as long as it did for me to finally say "hello"!
So, it's nice to meet you all! I look forward to being a more active member of this community. I have gained so much from the useful information and fantastic resources in this community, so I'm excited to get more engaged and share back.
