Hey, just wanted to get some thoughts, suggestions, general feedback on this story/world I'm building. Here goes...

Every since I started creative writing, I've wanted to create a saga & a world that people all over want to immerse themselves in, and feel compelled to adapt & build upon. It's my #1 goal to have someone create fan-fiction for a world I created - thus, this is my attempt at accomplishing that.

~Overview~

General Genre:

Science Fantasy (emphasis on fantasy over science, but a near-balanced combination)

General Setting: An Earth-like world in a binary system (yellow Sol-like star=The Lion; white dwarf=The Lamb); it is a fantasy world with futuristic elements, and a post-post-apocalyptic flair. Typical fantasy races are used, with the exception of Dwarves.

General Backstory: Previous civilizations existed thousands & thousands of years ago, well beyond (presently) recorded history - but their civilizations met a Malthusian end by their own ignorance & apathy. Essentially, the backstory is a failure scenario of globalism, which resulted in a global nuclear holocaust, out of which only a few settlements managed to endure. Emerging from this calamity were many factions, & many alignments between them. One of these factions, a small union of people (all fantasy races=”people”, for simplicity’s sake) committed to rebuilding civilization, attempted to eradicate all knowledge of history, weaponry, & technology, desiring instead to build a primitivist agrarian society, to be eternally classless & communal - never again repeating the mistakes of the past. Unfortunately, this union had to contend with other more antagonistic forces—those physically mutated, neo-religious fanaticists, and all manner of extremists were outcast. The results of this backstory are not 100% pertinent to the "present" story—suffice to say that technology was slowly forsaken, became derlict, & eventually, a class society emerged once more, essentially resetting history, developing into a fantasy world against the backdrop of a post-post-apocalypse of a ruined & highly advanced global civilization. In the "present", technology is either slumbering (their uses having been forgotten), or worshipped as constructs of the gods, some devices (that people have figured out how to use) are even viewed as forms of magic. The possibilities for this type of setting are endless - massive garbage landfills, deep scars in the planet from mining, etc.
and a post-post-apocalyptic flair.
"Post-post-apocalyptic"?

"Apocalyptic" = world ending cataclysm whether natural or man-made.

"Post-apocalyptic" = living in and dealing with the immediate aftermath of that cataclysm.

"Post-post-apocalyptic" = Occuring in the rebuilt society after the planet, and to some extent society, has recovered.

Right?

Sounds similar to Terry Brook's "Shannara" books. Sounds interesting, as long as you do it well it should be a fun story.

As for Terry Brook's books that I compared them to, "Word and Void" are the pre-apocalyptic, apocalyptic, and immediately post-apocalyptic stories while the "Shannara" books are closer to post-post-apocalyptic, occurring hundreds of years later after society has been rebuilt and magic as well as the traditional "fantasy" species such as elves have awakened.

Well, maybe when you are done with it you will want to check them out. I believe I heard MTV is even doing a TV series based on the Shannara books soon.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
