An interesting reading!

I felt like reading my video games paper magazine back in the days, especially the review pages.

Woohoo! Thanks for featuring my review in there. The magazine was an excellent read and I especially enjoyed the article about Bridgnorth. I hardly knew a town like that existed! Good work, Amy. I will definitely be thinking of other things to submit for this thing. It's real cool ^_^

This night I thought of something for the magazine.

Maybe you create a "(re)discover" section where you would show (review?) an old title and highlight why it has become a classic.

A variant could be to showcase a subjectively good game that didn't get the fame it deserved. Like finding a gold nugget tossed away with the dirt.

But that might be a lot harder to do and, well, really subjective.

Sounds good to me. The only issue with doing that is that a lot of great games are no longer around, mainly due to Megaupload going down a few years back.

Wow, this is awesome. :) Great idea, and well done, too! Keep up the good work! Man, I hope one day my game will be in one of those, haha.

Well, there's a lot of content for the next couple of months that you can put into the magazine now! :)

(Humble, steam sale, game dev 2014, etc)

*Bump* to remind you all the next issue is due in around ten days time (nine hopefully), if everything goes to plan. If you have anything you want mentioning: a game, a contest or event, a website, a cool script, made by other people or made by yourself, please let me know and it *might* feature.

A reminder that issues can always be found at www.arpgmaker.com although discussion's absolutely fine here and other places! I'm on the look out for other communities to get involved so if you know of any substantial places I've missed please let me know.

Oh, my tileset should be out by then.  I'll have to look into getting you some sort of advertising thing.

I'm looking to build a list of open, substantial RPG Maker communities (mostly forums) at the back of the 'zine. Requirements: must have open membership, must be currently online, must have more than 5,000 posts or equivalent content. RM Collective, for example, is now disqualified as it's just a closed group of makers.

Currently I have:

Advanced RPG Maker

Amaranthia

Chaos Project

Charas Project

Creation Asylum

Game Dev Unlimited

RPG Crisis

RPGMaker.org

RPG Maker at Neoseeker

RPG Maker Magazine

RPG Maker Network

RPG Maker Pavilion

RPG Maker Resource Kit

RPG Maker VX Community

RPG Maker VX Ace Community

RPG Maker Web

RPG RPG Revolution

Save Point

Steam RPG Maker Community

Anyone know of any others?

All things going well the next issue should be out on Sunday.

At the moment I only have English language as I don't know much about the community outside. But there's enough room on the page to feature some of the bigger foreign language sites.

http://www.rpg-maker.fr is coming to my mind as a major site in french about RPG Maker.
With 534786 posts it is qualified to be in your list.

Please note that I'm not affiliated in any way with this forum (don't even have an account there) so I cannot say for them if they want to be mentionned in your magazine.
I can't think why they wouldn't, but...

If you need help contacting someone there or need a french translation, I (and the other french speaking people here as well) can do it for you.

This one fell a little flat for me, there was no balance between article types. Once again I love the location inspiration article, I hope it becomes a consistent feature. One question, why does everyone assume the mods here are paid? Most of us are volunteers you know.

I thought it was good, I liked the extra use of imagery compared to previous ezines.

The only issue I think would be with the RGSS area - I learnt CSS and HTML-building basically from scratch, rather than being given a section of code and being told about it. Literally, I was taught as the snippets of code were built. Maybe this would be a better approach?

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
