make the fonts customization section look like this...

  Font_Name[0] = ["VL Gothic", "Arial"  ] # + Default_Fonts  Font_Name[1] = ["Arial" , "Xirod"     ] # + Default_Fonts  Font_Name[2] = ["Xirod" , "Arial Bold"] # + Default_Fonts  Font_Name[3] = ["Comic Sans MS"] # + Default_Fonts  Font_Name[4] = ["Verdana"]  # + Default_Fonts  Font_Name[5] = ["Arial"]  #+ Default_Fonts  Font_Name[6] = ["Courier"]  #+ Default_Fonts
that should fix your issue. if it doesnt make sure you are using v1.8 and try again. if it still doesnt work im gonna need a little more information on the issue.

Yep, causes a little lag when generating the map name, but for all the effects and things you can have, its easily worth a little FPS drop for a few seconds :)

lol, happy to hear that. i keep thinking of what other scripts like this i could do, but none of the ideas really appeal to me for some reason...

If only there was something similar to a map name window that i could take and modify the crap out of...

Hmmm, if only the battle log window didnt need to display so much information so quickly...

that all said... I'm havin a problem. I had the same problem as all the others but I fixed that with the #a,b,etc.

now that i'm tryna use shingamix's AMAZERING ass backgrounds though I'm getting:

Script 'Game_Interpreter' line 1411: NameError ocurred.

Uninitialized constant Game_Interpreter:: Font_Name

Granted... I JUST FOUND OUT what a flippin Script call was and I'm trying to use it for this script/shin's background... annnnd Idk if the event is supposed to be a parallel process or just a flippin action button or what. Anyway yeah that's my error. :(

you shouldn't be using that as a script call. they arent designated as such.
For this script if you want to change the effects for maps you must use the ntoetags provided in the map notebox area.

 replace X with the Font_Name array index.

 <FONT SIZE: X>

 <FS: X>

 replace X with the font size.

Is there a way to make the text appear faster? I mean, reach full opacity faster or just be 100% and not fade in? There doesn't seem to be an option for that and the script takes like 5 seconds to make the name appear completely, it's too much. And maybe a way to reduce the time the map name is on screen.

I think tweaking some numbers around 'opacity' should do the thing, but I'm not sure, I'd have to look on that closer...

Yes I tried touching something there but I wasn't able to do anything but crashing or making it worse.

I wanted to take a closer look, but this script throws error on me upon opening game:



It's a fresh project and that's the only script installed (besides one-line snippet to change resolution). [there's nothing said about required scripts]

Perhaps I pasted that script in a wrong place.


How to Use
Place this script under main and above materials, plug and play.
But I have no idea how to do that. ; )

Btw - well... Yup.



Also tried on my current project - it worked, but the frame rate dropped to 0 - 1. I've never seen something like this.

I'm sorry, I'm not able to help you, because it doesn't work at all for me.

This script has a magnitute of settings that can be messed with for the display of the map text.such as opacity, slide time etc, and each letter can also be modified to ave its own values for each setting..

I have no idea why you would be getting such a slow frame rate.. on my old laptop, at the very most, this system would drop down to around 56 fps for a second, when you just change map, but other than that there should be no major speed issues.

edit: Also, the script should be above main and under materials. I always say that the wrong way round  :)
