Hi i was thinking of doing a card collection to my game and the simplest way i thought i could do it was having a key item that plays an animation where the card appears. however i dont know how to do it. i have the animation working but when i try to open the card from the menu the animation doesn't play :(  


I have included some screenshots to help.

The purpose of the 'animation' part in Items database is for items that you can cast in battle to deal damage or to heal party members. It won't play from the menu screen.

The item can trigger a common event that plays the animation.

No trigger needed. It'll activate when you use a card in your menu and do whatever else you want the card to do. 




Unless you wanted to use the card on a specific event. In which, I suggest making cards keyitems and have the event open the Select Key Item Menu.
The game stores the selected item's ID to use comparatively in a conditional branch.  So in this example, When Item ID:17 is selected, it'll run the common event. You don't really need a common event, but presumably it's a repeatable action and this will save you time and keep your event pages tidier.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
