Another "can't get the actor to move after cutscene" post...

Oh, geez...

So I'm just doing everything I did several times before when I first got this software, I did not mess with my tile sets, I used a Parallel instead of an Autorun for the Trigger (there are no Autoruns active on the current map), but right after this one cutscene I just made, I simply can't get the actor to respond. I can't even open the Menu box. I've tried switches and event erases and copying and pasting previous events, then editing them, everything I could think to do... anything I might have missed?

It's been quite a while since I first played with this software, so bear with me if I'm forgetting something.

Is everything in you game frozen? You can't turn the actor either?

Then it is an autorun. You may have used a switch that correlates to a common event set to autorun, and it simply turned on. Check your common events and see if there's any that runs on a switch that you used in your last event.

Nope - it's Parallel. I have checked this over and over again. Nothing works.

Then there is another autorun that's being turned on at the end of your cutscene. And cutscenes SHOULD be autorun, so go ahead and change that anyway.

Look at what switches get turned on by your autorun, then look for other events or common events that are set to autorun and conditioned by those switches. Even an event or common event that has no commands will cause this to happen.

Autoruns are the only things that cause this kind of behaviour, so trust us - there's an autorun event SOMEWHERE that's being activated at the end of your cutscene. What about the next tab in your cutscene event - the one you activate in order to turn off the cutscene?

When I have tried making it an Autorun cutscene for this scene, it won't even play. So I used Parallel. But now the actor doesn't budge. I have even tried copying and pasting former events from other scenes that worked beautifully and just changed the details a little and it still doesn't work. Is it possible the software is just being buggy?

Think I figured it out - for some reason, when I used an old save file to load that part of the game, it wouldn't let me move, even with the update. Weird!

Additionally, I strongly suggest that you read the "bughunting" tutorial in my signature, because there is a lot you did wrong.
As for the old save - a savefile contains the current map and its structure, so loading an old savefile can result in some mapchanges being ignored. Unless you know what you're doing it's usually better to test with a new game and use a developer-item to jump around the game.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
