I've been astounded by games like OFF and Ib, and I just wanted to know if there was anything else like these games I could try. Not specifically horror-type things, I just want something interesting that conveys it's story well.

(sorry if there's already a thread like this.)

Try your hand at End Game! It's not really a full-fledged game as much as it is a single boss fight (read the description on the thread to know a bit more of what it's about). But can you survive with what limited resources you have at your disposal? Try and see!

As a warning, it's absolutely meant to be difficult. If you decide to give it a shot, I wish you the best of luck! =D

Sunset Over Imdhal is fantastic and inspiring given the age and the system. (Great example of what parallax mapping should be like too)

If you liked Off and Ib, you might like Dreaming Mary. If anything, I was greatly impressed by its use of sound design - which is something often ignored in RPGmaker games.

Last Word was one I really enjoyed. It's a really unique system; mind you I'm not sure how the free version is like as I played the version on Steam. I really enjoyed the storytelling in this one a lot and that was part of what kept me captivated with it.

This one's a VN, but it's got great atmosphere and might interest you: Subject.

Last one I suppose - it's pretty hit and miss, but I found it to be really interesting and a nice approach to story telling. It's less of a direct story and more of a "form it in your head based on the choices you make and what you're told." So it involves some creative input: A Stranger Comes to Shore. (Actually, check out that creators other game Oh Ko!)

Phew I'll stop there (but only because I feel shallow suggesting my own games ;D )

Can I specify a tad? I'm really craving something story driven, that I can get attached to.

@Makio-Kuta: Heeeyyy...I resent that!!

Only jesting. I realize it was a shameless plug on my end, but I'll be honest and say I'm unfamiliar with RM games in general. I WILL try out a few of the games you suggested, though! =D

@grubsky: End Game DOES have a story, albeit very generic, seeing as how it was only designed to have one chapter. =P

@grubsky all the games I listed are ones that I enjoyed and got attached to the story. I picked up that that was the part that mattered most to you in suggestions. Last Word and Sunset Over Imdhal also have unique gameplay as far as their genres go as well as added bonus.

@Clydous hahaha I shamelessly plug myself in other ways, but for some reason I can never bring myself to do it in threads such as these. (Also, you should CERTAINLY play Sunset Over Imdhal - it blew my mind in a lot of ways. It's nothing perfect, but when I played it a couple years ago it was a real eyeopener and now I think of it often.)

I'm trying to play Sunset over Imdhal, and the font has some issues. Since you've played it before, i thought you could help.

There are good RPG Make Games?!!!!

Steam's community lied to me!

...try anything made by @Matseb2611.  He makes some of the highest quality RPG maker games imo (and better then most indie games overall too).

OneShot, It's super cute and it's main theme is breaking the 4th wall, which is really cool when it's done right.
It has a shocking amount of similarities to Undertale too, if you are into that game.

Hi, @grubsky

I will recommed you Dhux's Scar, still the best game i ever played it in RPG (is a Spanish game but is translated already, dont worry).

Has a amazing plot and very interesting characters. His desing is old school  and is a little bit bizarre xD, you will see. Truly very recommended:

Mmmm, i would to propose a few more games but mostly i know is in spansih... Anyway,  as Makio-Kuta says, Imdhal sunset over is also an amazing game, is more like a adventure game, and has fantastic graphics.

So, i hope you enjoy those games!

There Kindred Saga, Legion Saga, Destiny 2.3 (French Rpg Maker community), Philosopher's Stone, Velsarbor English(Very impressive game with custom systems) and Power Trip from Rpg Maker 2003/2000...I still replay them once in a while even though I finished them some years ago.

Although I haven't tried them yet, I've heard good things about The Witch's House and Mad Father! They should be pretty similar to Ib (which I have played) in terms of story and atmosphere :)

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
