The type of game I'm aiming requires plenty of custom resources - charsets, battlers, icons, facesets. I'm no artist, but unfortunetaly I don't want a bad game, graphically speaking. So I restricted myself.
Each tile is 16 pixels, because less space, less work, and details can be removed for a more fill-it-with-your-mind approach. I also grew up with the SNES / Master System / GBC, so the sprite art is something I really enjoy.
Searching in the internet I found the Dawnbringer 32 color palette. Looking for consistency in the color of my sprites, I adopt it, but as you'll see below, out of the spoiler, 32 colors are such a hard limit to work on that I made this thread.
The work is going well. Most of the tilesets are my creations, with only a few being recolors (or frankensprites) of the Time Fantasy pack and the RPG Maker 2003 tileset, both assets that I own. Since I don't aim to sell the tileset, no worries here. I don't even know if I'll sell the game or release it for free. But yes, the idea is to replace everything with original creations later. Only someone who tried to make your own RTP knowns this can consume you.
